This is a topic close to my heart, but I don't think it will interest a single person!
Simple this I like to find the best Margarita ( a drink if you don't know) in all major cities. How sad am I. I think I'll be the only person to add to this thread, but so far I think Shadow bar in soi Cowboy does the best.

My dear boy a margarita is an art form when made correctly, and I must admit you can get some damn good ones in Bangkok. thats the only reason I still live here,...nothing to do with the ladies...?!?!

Will have to check their magarita out. BTW, have you been upstairs at the Shadow Bar? They have a pool table, and an interesting entrance to the short time room.

It's my wife's favorite drink.
Though she also likes (my) Absinthe, and frozen Daiquaris.
But mostly she's hardcore Gin & Tonic.

Looking forward to some recomendations! Had Margaritas in Bangkok, Khorat, Chang Mai, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Singaphore. They had one thing in common they were absolutly horrible! I still like a Margarita if I can find one.

A perfect Margarita is simple, but in my opinion can only be made one way.
This is a Margarita and not a frozen mararita which is made with crushed ice and not straind.
2 ...parts tequila (silver)
1 ...part Cointreau ( must be Cointreau, explain later)
1 ...part FRESH lime juice
Shaken with lots of ice and strained into a Champagne saucer rimmed with salt.
It has to be Cointreau because Cointreau is 40% ABV while most other orange liquiors eg. tripple sec, are only 23-26% ABV.
This adds more of a kick and more flavour.
If you do as above you will have a great piece of art and a fantastic drink. You don't need to add anything else. I think this simple way is the best.
I am so sad, i have been known to cry at the end of a great Margarita, it's like the death of a friend when i finish one.

couldnt agree more , although made with Grand Marnier is a nice change of pace
I prefer Patron, Hussong's or Herradura myself

The best that I have had in BKK is at the Mexican food restaurant in the Rembrandt Hotel.It is up the stairs from the lobby. Sorry-I cannot remember the name of the restaurant.
