Hey there! Hi All.
Me and a mate of mine are coming to Thailand in July -August for 2 1/2 weeks. Basically can't wait! Especially after reading through some of the field reports!!! Aanyway, we're spending about 8 nights in Bangkok and 8 nights in Phuket. Obviuously not that much time in either place and therefore wanna get the "most" out of it...... Therefore, have a few questions. Just to make sure we don't waste any valuable time (or money!) in any dodgey experiences / places.
I understand most places offer similar services, but we're really looking for the inevitable value for money here? i.e
Is it cheaper (by much?) to get a freelancer instead of pubs/clubs? obviously theres no bar fine, but does actually girl price differ?
Best places for shows and that?
Places to avoid? You know, places full of "Not the Best" TG's who want leave you alone....
MP's, best places? Best times to go?
Whats the place like in July / August? Don't think this is high season, so will it be cheaper? If so what sorta prices should we bargaining for?
Tipping People? Mamasans / Papasans, whats a fair price to give them so they don't think your tight f***er, yet so your not robbing you self blind?
Ladyboys? Hell, some of them are convincing!! DON'T wanna get caught out. Clues to not get fooled (apart from the obvious) and places to AVOID?
Finally, We're both young fit lads, does this help to get the best looking ladies cheaper? Or is it purely the money that talks?

Doubt it pays, or works, to come to LOS with a set plan of attack ! -As your new to LOS, TGs etc, big chance some star will sweep you away first night, and the plan will be out the window ! But best bet probably a late afternoon massage, then a few drinks in maybe nana plaza, then go find a freelancer in nana disco or CM2, thats for bangkok anyway - and much easier done if you stay in the Sukhumvit area, say between sois 1-33.

Welcome. Wow. Lots of questions there. Most of these guys could write a book to answer all that. My two cents worth. Bangkok - Stay in the Sukhumvit area in a hotel that is guest friendly (ie does not charge a fee when you bring a girl back to the room). Freelancers? Be careful and you'll be fine, however there is no denying that beer bar and go-go girls are less of a security risk and maybe the barfine is worth it for that aspect alone on your first trip. Phuket: stay in Patong within walking distance of Bangla Rd. Taxi rides in Phuket are very expensive and all of the action is in Patong. Katoeys? Yes, some of them are incredible but up close and the voice, and you will spot the fake. Enjoy.

Since you mention your looking for value and I'm a cheap charley here my take on BKK. I would stay at the Majestic Suites about 1100 per night with in room safe, girl friendly and in the middle of all the action.
Annie's soapy massage is arond the corner less then 5 minute walk 100 meters past the Nana Hotel. Go to Rajah Hotel and make a right 50 meters down the soi on the left. I've always had good service and cheap. Last time I was there I paid 1000 to the house and 500 as a tip for the girl if I got good servcie. I've always got good service.
Beergarden soi 7 and Gulliver's, soi 5 are excellent places to pick up freelancers. I pay 500 s/t and 1000 l/t. Girls are more then happy with this. These places are 5 minute walk from MS hotel.
Soi Cowboy is 10 to 15 minute walk. I like Suzy Wong for the show.
Patpong catch the sky-train to Sala Daeng, walk the same way the train is going on the same side of the street for two blocks and your at Patpong. Go to the Kangaroo Bar for a bj, talk to Pen, speaks excellent english and a lot of fun to be with. Honest women will show you a great time tell her, Denny says Hi. Star of light another good bj bar. Be careful of the shows. Make sure you know the price before you order. Patpong gets started around 8PM
All the BG, I've barfined or freelancers have been good to go for 500 s/t or 1000 l/t. Some guys pay more. Your mileage may vary. 11 days till show time.

Here's a few tips to avoid rips...
Don't take un metered taxis
Don't listen to anyone who tells you that "the grand palace / wat pra keo/ etc" is closed for an hour, so they'll take you on a tour...
When someone tells you a price - offer them half...
If you take a tuktuk, tell the driver you do not want to stop anywhere but where you've asked him to go
If someone offers you a river boat ride for 400 boat, tell em to get stuffed, the river taxi is 10 baht or less
Don't pay girls in advance
Don't dress TOO nice when going to beer bars / gogos, you're just asking to get inflated prices
Do not under any circumstances ring any damn bell ! (this might not make sense now, but remember it)

My cents worth...
I love variety, do a bit of everything...MP, nana, Patpong (love it, my favourite), Cowboy, Afternoon BJ but if you do anything you MUST do the Eden Club, you will never walk straight again!!!
Freelancers, try the discos in Patpong after 1;30 am when bars are getting near closing and some of the best girls are still looking.. no bar fine, so freelancers price and gogo quality.
For a short trip..one girl one time..keep up the numbers of pussies per day!
Try to take 2 back to the hotel for a double header.
Careful with the beer, it is stronger here. You gotta keep up a big water intake.
Try a viagra for one night to see how it feels.
Careful with any freelancer outside Nana or on Sukhumvit.
100 baht mamasan tip or maybe a Tequila?
Take care of your health to enjoy every day. careful what you eat, only drink bottled water. Pharmacies here provide lomotil for the stomach and antibiotics for bugs.
Use condoms every time.
Lastly GO TO THE EDEN CLUB

Study like you mean............Read the threads, go back as far as you can........re read the loser threads. Some of use have been ripped off beyond belief. To stay out of the Embassy I suggest the following.
1)Keep any thing not nailed down in the hotel safe.
2)Never pay more than 1000 baht for short time.
3)If you can't pronounce it don't eat it.
4)Do not drink tap water, drink alot of bottled water.
5)except when asleep or dead keep both eyes open.
6)Treat the ladies and all other sentient beings respectfully, smile, and it'll all come back to you...eventually.
