From what I've seen and heard in the past, a good number of the lady houses have underaged girls along with girls who are "legal". A safe bet is to avoid them in my opinion to be on the safe side.

I kicked it on top so You find it easily.
My own experience was short and fast.
Driver stopped near a house and said :"Lady home , You want see? Maybe take a lady?"
I do not remember what mark he gave but the heavy iron gate opened and he drove to the yard.
Door opened and in we went (Yep , know now I did one hell of a stupid move ).
Girls were driven in like a cattle and lined-up.
Sorrry sight.
Some VERY young looking and scared , some decent but zero for my taste.
I just said to the driver:"Sorry , no like. Let's go."
BTW , the guys handling the place were kinda type You wish NOT to f_ck with.
Friver took me back to HTL and I gave him dealt 70 THB and the asshole demanded 250 more for "Guiding me around".

What I want to say: STAY THE f_ck OUT OF THOSE PLACES !
There is plenty without testing those waters.

Thanks for the advice. ÝOut of curiousity, I checked out 2 places earlier today and was not hassled by the cab driver. ÝDon't know when was the last time you went, but the place looked quite decent and I didn't see any thugs at all. ÝJust a caretaker and some girls who had legal age looks. ÝWas quoted 2.5k B for all nighter but didn't go for it and said I'll think it over.
Paid cab driver the metered fare at my final destination with no extras. Ý

No offense brother Adhoc but exactly what does legal age look like? Most Thai ladies in their 20's look like teenagers. Did you ask to see their Thai ID's and was the date on them 2526 or earlier? To be honest, I did not check their IDs or whatsoever and probably I just saw some superficial smiles. ÝThat is why I didn't take anyone of them. ÝThe sound advice from JR is definitely a good one.

My understanding is a lady house is open to farangs. The girls are usually 18-22. There is no short time. Charges are by the day. The full charge is paid to the house, including tip. The prefer to have customers that are checking girls out for 3-4 days or more. Girls goes with you and stays with you entire time.
