This might be a bit early but anyone does anyone know any special happenings around new years? I'm not talking about go-go's, but events like fireworks. Also, is Bangkok the it "place", compared to Pattaya or Phuket. Oh and do the girls ask for more??? Thanks for the help all.

Correct, Thais dont mind a chance to have a drink and a holiday, actually the "farang" new year not a big deal here, although many Hotels will take the opportunity to rort you - charge you for an overpriced new years dinner whether you want it or not, think the action pretty evenly spread, just like a 'big' saturday night in most places, chinese new year is a bit more traditional, whereas of coursr the big deal is songkran, or thai new year, where you get wet, pissed, then try and kill each other on the road driving home -

Hey ccvvbb there were 2 previous posts about New Year's but no one answered one post and the other had a deep conversion about NY meaning New York or New Years; hence I wanted a real answer to my question. Thanks thaiprivateye, I'll probably be in Bangkok for the western and Chinese New Year.

Good on you FG, think often Nightclubs get a special clearance to go till 4/5am, like the old days, on Xmas/New year, so it is bigger than usual, but nothing special, unless of course your into TG/BGs wearing santa hats !
