Apparently (I've never been tested), if you are found positive the response varies. I've heard some people were just given a stern warning and let go. Others were actually taken in. Then, as amost always in matters of the law in LOS, it's a matter of payment of an "unofficial fine".
The exception to this was a group that happened to get caught when the Interior Minister went along on the raid (PR opportunity) and the falangs had to be made an example; they were arrested and invited to leave the country. This is the story as I recall but I may be incorrect on some of it.

From a friend of mine who was tested, and released because he was clean, a well as from a number of Thai newspapers, the story is that it usually occurs in Discos and then usually when the place is operating after hours.
I've also heard of AGoGos being raided for explicit sex shows, or simply showing too much but in every case I have heard of, there were no drug tests in these cases.
Although I don't have references at hand, a number of Thai newspapers, both in Thai and in English have said something to the effect that Discos that are open after hours are assumed to be havens for drug use.
Considering the reported prevelance of drug use in Thailand, singleing out Discos still open after hours helps kill two birds with one stone, I guess.
Vertigo - Where did you hear about this happening and can you tell us the circumstances at the time like location and time of day?

It definitely happens, ands has been publicized. Vertigo was asking on a thread about Q Bar earlier so one can assume that's where he heard about it.
The raids on GoGos are for shows or underage girls and therefore have nothing to do with urine tests. Throught the years those have occasionally occured but the drug raids are fairly recent developments.
