Spotted these Japanese monger mags at a bookstand at Phrom Phong station back in December. Kind of interesting to thumb through, even if you can't understand the language. These mags are classic examples of how Japanese often go to great lengths to over-explain (often obvious) things down to the gnats ass (JMHO).

And one more called G-diary. My JP golf friends all read it for new info on lady scenes. They even tell you the numbers of girls that are worth checking out in all the gogo bars. Even have maps of action in Yangon, Hat Yai, Dannok, Padang, Chiang Mai, ect ect, and diagrams of shops in Nana, Soi Cowboy, Patpong, Ratchada, ect ect.
No wonder they are always ahead of every body.

I would respectfully disagree, baba. I see them more as iconographic of how embedded sex tourism is between Japan and Thailand. And, moreso, how legitimised said tourism is in the asian mindset. To me they are legitimate [revenue generating] magazines serving one sector of a service economy.
Now, if you had been referring to their penchant for bloging all their sexploits online- thus leaving a path for other mongers to follow- I would have agreed entirely. 
This whole issue was brought to my doorstep last month, when I had the pleasure to host a good friend from the States and his Japanese born wife here for a two week holiday.
His wife had put together- and kept with her at all times- a three ring binder notebook (around 100 pgs in size) of everything they wanted to do and see while they were here. Maps, photos, street shots/across street shots, ratings, prices- the works. All researched online, posted online and catering to the Japanese palate. But what was really funny was how much she'd stumbled on the sex-tourism infrastucture while she was doing her own research: she 'knew' already many of the venues I was prepared to show them.
