Looking for Five or very nice Four star hotel in Pattaya that is right in the center of the action. Have been to Bangkok before but first time in Pattaya. Any suggestions?

Marriot jumps to mind....or the Dusit.....both are on the baht bus ring road and easy to get around....My pick would be the Marriot for quality/price and location if compared to Dusit.

stu, I've known 2 guys who have stayed at the Marriot and never mentioned problems with bringing girls back. I haven't stayed there myself, just going on others not mentioning problem with girls.
Could it have been an issue about not booking a double etc????

I've heard mixed reports about the Marriot in terms of whether its girl friendly or not. I don't even think its to do with booking a double, it just seems that some people have a problem and others don't.

No problem last month at Pattaya Marriott as long as one books a double room. Just leave ID with security guard unless TG checked in at front desk.

will never believe that you stayed there and did not pay a big joiner fee even if you booked a double, triple ect. -have been staying there for years -maybe you where too drunk and like some people can not remember the go go bar or hotel. Too much hear say misinformation, people lifting bits from other post on this site. many times street names,location in city or citiies mixed up by thoses who have never been or just do not know -but your money, great hotel,great location on the beach next to shopping center. and great joiner fee. believe who ever you want but do not be shocked when you asked to pay-even when you have a double good luck to u and have a nice day

Hello Stu. Did you book through a travel agency? That may be the problem.
If you book throiugh the Marriott web site there should be no joiner fee.
By the way, I stay two or three at this hotel every Easter when visiting friends in Pattaya. It used to be the Royal Garden.

I booked through the web site, and there's never a joiner fee. They have 2 wings of rooms at the hotel, and when you stay at the other wing (not attached to the mall or the lobby) there isn't even a security guard to take the girl's ID.
Just walk in through the garden entrance on Beach Road, and swerve to the left. The security guard at the entrance won't take her ID and they only post a guy at the elevator in the main building.
So if you booked a room through a travel agency which limits your options, specifically ask for a room in the other wing.
