I checked the Best Value Hotel thread but all the hotels seem to be a bit pricy for my budget. So where are the cheaper hotels located around Sukhumvit?

The only conditions are that it should be:

Clean, AC, Room safe, Fridge, TV, Guest friendly.

Like BKKdreaming said what price range?

Also a little more info would help. Like how far away from the action are you willing to go?

How long will you be staying there? A couple of days/weeks/month?

Budget under 1000 a night, staying for a week.

When "guest friendly" is mentioned here does this mean no joiner fee or just that they dont mind you draggin LBFM's to the room?

The Manhatton hotel sukhumvit soi 15. Has all that plus. I got it for bt980 last month. Just stay on the soi side, and the noise is no problem. Very guest friendly if you book a double.

Around 1200 Baht

For location near NEP I like in this order

Majestic suites
Dynasty - get a room in the newer section

No matter how drunk you get you can still find your way back to your hotel.

Grand Business Inn on Soi 11 (never stayed there but heard good things about it)

For under 1000 I agree with koolbreez. Manhatton is good value. If you wake up the breakfast is very good also.

Fallit guest friendly means no joiner fees. Don't think you will find many hotels recommened on this site that charge a joiner fee. Do book double though.

However I did book the single studio at Majestic suites and had no problem with girls even two at a time. You just only get breakfast for one but it is nothing to write home about anyhow.

Fallit,

I am not sure why you say that Best Value hotels thread does not have what you are looking for. In the under 1000 bhat per night level, I have the Manhatten hotel, which goes for as low as 800 bhat including beakfast. It has big in room safe, large double bed, and good breakfast. Quiet rooms face the soi. I don't know about the other small hotels you may see people suggest. I actually preffer large hotels, Manhatten has 200 rooms. Another interesting choice at 1000 bhat is the Nana hotel, given the hint (check nana thread) they refubrished the rooms there. A refubrished room for 1000 bhat double, incl tax and breakfast would be a super value. They have refubrished the pool there, and it looks nice (big pool). Have a large club in the basement with 100s of TGs (better than the bars... you get to do hunting and you have 100s to choose from...). Location of both Nana and Manhatten could not be better, all near BTS and NEP

Cheers.

Ap.

Swiss Grottino I would compare to Manhattan. Difference is 800Bhat vs 1800Bhat/day, hence it is not on my VALUE list.

Apollo

Maybe he wanted a second opinion. I do agree Manhatten is good value (just would not compare it to Swiss Grottino).

Do make sure you book online or you will pay to much. For some odd reason there web site price is way higher then if you book online with one of the links from BTF. This is not uncommon in BKK but with Manhatten it seems there is a very large difference if you don't book online. So don't book direct from their site http://www.hotelmanhattan.com/ yikes!

Have not stayed in a refurbished room at the Nana but sounds like an option for good value also if you can get one.

Bangkoksexydotcom

For that price range and considering it is new that place does seem to be very good value. I rather like a place a bit more upscale but would like a link to their web page if you know of one? I did a google search but could only find reservation services that link to it not a web page just for the hotel.

I did get this info

The Blooms Residence
203/1 Soi Sribamphen Yen-Arkard Road Chongnonsee Yannawa Bangkok Thailand 10120

I guess at that price no in room safe?
