Looking for a place to stay for couple of nights near NEP in the 1000 baht range but willing to pay more. I'd like a place with both a hotel safe (that I can trust) plus an in room safe. Does Nana and Dynasty have both? Also will need access to safe very early in the morning 5AM when checking out. Have the impression that the Dynasty is nicer and you don't have to cross the street to get to NEP while Nana has a pool. Am willing to consider other guest friendly hotels also. If you've stayed are there special wings or floors you can recomend? Thanks.

Majestic Suites has in room safe and is less then 3 minute walk to Nana Hotel. Clean, good A/C and price is within your price range. I've stayed there and I'm booked in again. 4 days

Try the Park Hotel on Soi 7. I posted last week under Hotel Issues.
No fee for the Laides.
If not Dynasty (much better than Nana) for 980Baht out the back hotel section (larger beds plus bath tub) can be booked through their web site. Good, clean, cheap hotel with no fee for the ladies

I'll be trying out Nana and Majestic for the first time in a few weeks when I arrive. I've stayed in the Grand Inn Hotel, just across the street, in all my previous trips. But from what I've read, the pool in Nana is very very very dirty, and you do not want to get near it. If you plan to go to Pattaya as well, Dynasty have free transportation to take you to their sister hotel there. That would save you another 1000 baht or so.

Will be going from airport straight to Pattaya then to Bangkok then to airport. The free Dynasty shuttle is only one way from bangkok to Pattaya. Seems as oif Nana gets lots of negative reviews but Dynasty doesn't.
Maybe I'll stay in one of the opther places the guys recomended that's walking distance from NEP.

most hotels have either safe in the front desk area like Nana or Gran Inn, and some have in room safe like Majestic. You can try Grand Inn on Soi 3. I've stayed there in lots of previous trips. The staff is awesome. You can get a pretty good room around 900-1100 Baht. Just across the street from NEP. Nana to NEP about 2 minute. Majestic to NEP about 3 minute. Grand Inn to NEP about 5 minute. Don't know or not sure that any of the hotel have both in room and front desk safes.
If you're willing to pay more, than you have tons of options. With the 5 AM checkout thing, doesn't seem like there should be a problem with any of the hotels. But best to e-mail them and find out for sure that your needs can be fulfilled.

Hey brother Dog, the only negative thing I can recall reading about Dynasty hotel was that there were a couple reports of theft. A couple guys reported that their rooms had been broken into and their laptops and stuff were stolen. Don't recall exactly when this happened, sometime last year. Nothing recent as far as I know. Peace

Grand Inn looks nice for that price range. Is it a hassle

the traffic is your typical bangkok traffic. just follow the locals when crossing the street and you'll be ok. Grand Inn is almost right next to 7/11. The staff is great. I trust everybody there. They don't have a website, I don't think. Don't you can reserve a room with them through their e-mail. grandinn@hotmail.com
No money or credit card deposit is required. Their phone and fax are: 253-3380 and 254-9020 respectively. Grand Inn have lobby safe, but no in-room safe. But as stated before, the staff is very trust worthy. Good luck.
