Would like some info on the Fortuna Hotel please. Is it close to NEP? Girl Friendly?

If this is the Fortune Blue Wave in Fortune Towers,I stay there a few times. I always booked a double and stayed with my Thai wife. They do have a security guard on duty at the elevator. They maybe girl friendly, but may also charge joiner fee. The way around this is to come in by way of the adjoining mall. Go in the second floor, then you can get on the elevator at the hotel on the 2nd floor.
They have some nice restaurants there. The Japanese place on the 2nd floor is decent, but a better Japanese one can be found in the mall. The Thai restaurant on the 7th or 9th (can't remember) is very nice with a garden view.
The hotel is alright, nothing to write home about. They have carpeting and do not seem to ever wash it. If you walk barefoot in your room you probably will have black feet, so wear slippers. No problems with hot water. No high-speed internet. Shopping is right next door.
Not to far from NEP distanance wise, but can be a bear sometimes during traffic. It is a straight shot to all the MP's on Ratachapesek, Champs Elysee is on the opposite corner and Soi Cowboy is down the street.
This places caters to the Chineese and Korean tour groups so it is a mad house for the breakfast buffet then they are off in the large tour buses. My advice is to skip the breakfast buffet, since it is not that good anyhow.
Tell the door man (woman) where you want go and they will go to the side of the street and flag down a cab who will take you there. They also have name cards written in Thai so you can use it to get back when you are drunk.

Sorry Shamas I screwed up  I should have read your tag line below the thread. In looking at the maps that BigD was good enough to post off of Yahoo, the Fortuna hotel on Soi 5 is not the hotel that I wrote about which is the Fortune Hotel on the corner of Din Daeng & Rachadaphisek Rd.
Therefore disread my comments, I guess you can't believe everything you read off the internet.
I can only comment to your location question. In the Fortuna Sukhumvit, Soi 5 you are right across the street from NEP, so close you will not have to take a taxi to bring your BG's back to your room and Soi Cowboy is just down the street.

Maybe some of the other bros can answer your other questions on the Fortuna, but with a name like "For Tuna" I would imagine they would be pussy friendly

I think the fortuna is mainly a japanese place, not that this need put you off. I went in and had a look around and was told it was 1,000 a night. Did not seem anyhing special, OK for the price. Near to foodland, great food 24 hours and groceries. Soi 5 is quite nice and better now that gullivers is there, walking distance to bar areas-peter
