I always pay for double occupancy and have never had a problem. A friend who had a guest at night and had paid for only single occupancy had a knock on the door and was asked to pay a surcharge.
So as long as you have paid for double occupancy, you should not have any problem.

Kris is 100% correct. It pays to pay the double occupancy rate. I stayed at a hotel which I booked on the internet. Anyways, their single and double occupancy rate were the same. But, when I checked in I only said it was a single. To make a long story short, they charge me extra for an over-night female guest. So, now I always book double occupancy to avoid any hassles.

This hotel was previously reported as guest friendly. But we have had a recent post that despite being booked as double the brother was asked for a joiner fee.

When I stayed at the Ambassador, the bellboys (more than one) are always by the elevators. I had my thai g-friend from pattaya with me and had paid double. but they would still hound her when she and I were going back to our room. she just said something in thai, laughed, and we caught the elevator. they are kind of annoying. and she isn't a bargirl or was dressed like one.

I have always stayed in the tower wing and usually return to the room with a girl at night. There is always atleast one security guy by the elevator in the tower wing who says a respectful hello and there has never been a problem.
I have also had bar girls come to my room n their own after the bar closed at 2.00am without me accompanying them and they have never reported any problem. Maybe they were asked the room number as well as had to show their ID. I have no idea.

Actually he said he was in a double room. That doesn't actually confirm that he had paid for double occupancy. If the room had been booked as part of a package it is possible that the package didn't cover double as some agents try to save something from the hotel by just booking single.
I'm not sure so maybe sanukboot can elaborate. The location of the Ambassador hotel makes it attractive but not if there are guest problems.

Have you guys tried the Novotel Lotus hotel?? It's got a great location and are guest friendly and the staff is very professional. On the street that the hotel is located, there are at least 6 bars with females in them. It's not like the beer garden, but more like a small g-club without the membership fee.
