Anyone stay at the Ruamchitt lately? I am wondering if the rooms have been re-done within the last 2 years or so?
Last time I stayed there, they were starting to need renovations.
I will be back on the 20th of June for 4 days with my GF and her Philippino sisters, we need a fairly respectable place to stay.

Rooms at the Roomshit Plaza (as ThaidUp refers) are still in need of renovations, most have that wonderful "musty" smell that has made the Roomshit Plaza famous. For 1200 a night, excluding breakfast, the only advantage is the location.
Respectable? They rent out short time rooms there.
I've stayed there frequently when in town for just one night. Without a reservation, it's reassuring to know you can usually get a room because the place is such a dump it'll be one of the last hotels to fully book. I've banged lots of girls there, best thing I can say is I've never seen a roach.
Lately I've been staying at City Lodge Soi 9, run by Amari, can usually get it for 1650, including continental breakfast, but have to book in advance.
