Hi,
Thanks for the info...
It sounds like I will keep my reservation with the Shangri-la...also, I was given a good rate for the Krungthep, so I will be staying in that wing.
I've heard their is a disco in the Shangri-La; can anyone confirm? Is it a decent time?

I wouldn't stay around the Shangri-la for entertainment. The clientele is mostly tour groups, conventions, and some old-school individuals who remember when Shangri-la was a premiere brand.
You also have to walk through some poorly lit areas to get to the BTS station, but it's safe.
The restaurants are pretty decent though.

im thinking of trying majestic grand for two nights- instead of landmark for four- any reports of pool, gym, and most important- does it serve so much food on exec floor- with the drinks- that you dont need dinner? id give it a try in march if yes on all 3- since I may be only one who loves landmark- montien and shangri-la are not on my switch list

My 25 cents: Stayed for many many years at Montien and liked it. However left in anger approx 2 years ago and will not return unless they change attitude! Cheated on my bill --- and took an arguement about it!! Disgusting.... but I think itīs because of the guy from Sweden managing it. He is not up to the task to be honest. Also - the place is rather worn now, not really worth the bother. And NOT gf at all anymore! Before no probs - but now they will give you a lot of hassle. Stay away from Montien!!
Instead I have tried Westin Grande and was more than satisfied! BTS just outside the door and close to the action. Me being a soi Cowboy hangout man - itīs just minutes to walk!
And gf? No probs at all the 2 times I stayed there past year! Will be back again both in March and April - and Westin is the place. I have my travel man doing all bookings for me - but have seen it on the web for as low as 103$. Normally around 150$.
