I remember postin' somethin' about this place a wee while ago and I can't be bothered (either) to UTFSE so in addition to previous comments: This place is girl friendly and is "boutique hotel" style. I stayed with a BG there for about a week about this time last year. I got her signed in and she was able to come and go as she pleased. I negotiated the rate down a bit with the receptioist as I was stayin' for a while longer than most folks. But I made the mistake of negotiating the price down before I saw the room! The room was fine but extremely very small (even for me and she!) so they probably gave me a small room to reflect the small price! There are larger rooms, like next door to mine so see the room before you haggle! Overall the room was clean and tidy with a wee veranda and boring view. The bathroom only had cold water from the tap/faucet in the sink but there was hot water through the shower heater thingy. TV was okay and my BG managed to sleep all day so it must've been quiet. I was off each day getting m'self a Thai Traditional Massage course cert' at Wat Po but that's in another thread! There was no AC in the corridors but the AC in the room was remotely controlled as was the TV. The bed was quite big enuff for two and the sheets n' towels were changed every day, so my BG said! I found it quite pricy at Baht 1400/night but get it down to Baht 1100 or less and it should be okay. Cheers Edit: http://bkkx.com/cgi-bin/forum/topic.cgi?forum=7&topic=851&start=0

Stayed at the Drop Inn last week and was more than happy with the service and the rooms. There was a room safe, which is a priority. Bed was plenty big enough, and comfortable. A five-minute walk to Soi 22 and 10 minutes to Soi Cowboy. Emporium is just up the road as well. Sure the eating choices are limited in Soi 20, but there are plenty of places close by. And to clarify matters, Drop Inn is very girl friendly and they take the girls' ID card (s). Top price room was 2000 baht a night and the other choices were 1400 and 1600 baht respectively.

I have a friend staying here at this time. After a recent long stay at the Town Lodge, I almost moved into this hotel for a few days, but instead decided to try the new (not yet formally open) Baan Sukhumvit -but I digress and better leave comments about it for another thread. I visited the hotel and saw my friends' room. This is a good alternative in the style of the Town Lodge. Some things are a bit nicer here than at the Town-L, and some others are nicer at the T-L. There is an elevator here to go to the rooms, there is much nicer lobby with a real restaurant. Tried breakfast there today while visiting my friend, but was not too impressed with that. Rooms a bit nicer (only a bit) than the T-L. Though a bit darker. Yes, the place is GF -as confirmed by my friend. The area where it is certainly beats down the T-L in location. Very very close to Sukhumvit. After a few days, the long walks to T-L at the end of the soi start to get boring. I really like the location of this place. I think that at 1,400, the price for this place reflects correctly where it stands relative to other two forum favorites: the 1,900 baht Swiss Grottino and the slightly cheaper 1,200 Town Lodge.
