If it was 64k I am amazed.. it seemed faster than that..but I will accept your comment I didnt run any benchmarks but it was more than adequate for general net use.

He probably meant 640k, and some people consider anything under a T1 speed (1.54 Mbps) to be merely okay. Some cable modem operators offer 2-3 Mbps.

No, I meant 64kbps. Some days it is a little quicker and the best I have seen is 100k.

How are you measuring? If it's by what you see on the browser, keep in mind the units are different. The speed that we measure connections by are in kilo-bits per second. The speed you see on the browser is in kilo-BYTES per seconds. 8 bits to a byte 1025 bytes to a kilobyte So if you see 100KB/sec, then that's well over 800 kbps
