Wohoo, my first post on BKK Tonight Forum after much lurking. ŬGreat message board with interesting topics.
I stayed at the Woraburi for 2 nights in mid March. ŬI had a standard room (800 baht per night). ŬIt was adequate, but I didn't like the bathroom. ŬThe Ŭbathroom door opened inward and it seperated the toliet from the sink, which bothered me for some reason. ŬAlso the shower was one of those water saver jobs with little pressure. ŬStill, the room was clean and served my undemanding purposes.
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. ŬI sent out some laundry and got it all back without any problems. ŬI don't know if they have a pool or other facilities, but there was a hair salon. Didn't see any in-house massage parlor.
They were guest friendly. ŬThey weren't pushy about getting ID from my bargirl visitors and I think one of my girls just came straight to the room without stopping at the desk. ŬIt is a long walk down soi 4 from NEP, but it's easy to get a taxi, tuk tuk, or moto-bike to take you to-and-from. ŬI enjoyed taking the casual stroll from NEP to the Woraburi (about half-a-mile) and stopping at the interesting bars along the way (Swan Bar, The Brunswick, Hillary Bar, and many more which I missed).
The best thing about the Woraburi was the lobby. ŬNow, I understand that lobby atmosphere is not high on everyone's list of how to pick a hotel, but the Woraburi's lobby has a character all it's own. ŬIt is open and airy and relaxing and comfortable. ŬThe bar is the perfect place to knock back a few cocktails before a night in the gogo's. ŬI enjoyed a peaceful mid morning breakfast at the lobby bar before heading to the airport on my last day. ŬThe lobby just has some sort of understated, laidback quality about it. ŬKudos to the person who designed it.
In conclusion, I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Irwin, did you have any problems bringing 2 girls back? Also, I'm thinking of staying there and getting the Jr. Suite. Did you get a chance to look inside, if so, do you think it's worth the extra 300 baht?
I'm trying to decide between Woraburi and Manhattan. Advice from anyone would be appreciated. Tx.

Aprod, I only took one girl at a time, but again never had any problem. Didn't see the junior suite.
If you're looking for something on the budget side but still nicer than a Motel 6 type room, I'd recommend the Majestic Suites. I stayed there for 3 nights when I first got to Bangkok and, although the room was very small, it was very nice. I stayed in a single and there wasn't much room to walk around, but the bathroom was great (big tub for you and your tilac) and it had an in-room safe which was very handy. Service was excellent and the breakfast wasn't bad. My window overlooked the Skytrain tracks but noise was not a problem. I think I paid 1000 baht per night but if you upgrade to a larger room it's still a pretty good bargin. You can't beat the location right around the corner from NEP, and again I never had any problems taking girls back to my room.

Lance, I was on the 3rd floor of the Woraburi and had no trouble with noise. Honestly, the only noise I heard the two nights I was there was when I was walking down the hall and heard the noise of bedroom olympics from one of the rooms (the girl must have been enjoying herself  ).
My room didn't have much of a view as it was located 2/3 the way down the hall and all I could see out my window was a building next door. I'm guessing if you got a room up front it might overlook Soi 4. The only view I need while in Thailand is the view of a naked Thai girl in my bed.

I made some enquires directly frm the hotel and was informed I have to pay a joiner fee of 100baht a if I was to bring guest in for overnight irregardless of the rooms I booked. I am confused as some of you said it was "guest friendly"
