Hey guys, brother mt is right. Raumchitt Plaza seems to be an ideal place. I received an email confirmation from them for my room and they even included a free tour of the Teekwood mansion and the jem factory ( Yeah I know. That's the first thing on everyones to do list when they visit Bangkok  ) Here is the web site that I went to when I booked my room. If you book through this site you will receive the 1000 baht price and you get a choice of a single room or a twin room for the same price. I booked my room a month ago when it was 900 baht. Sorry guys, but that's still equal to Nana's price and hopefully you won't have to pay the joiners fee for roaches. Check it out. Peace

Yes, the Ruamchitt is a decent hotel especially for the price. I stayed there a few times with no problems. I even stole one of their night desk employees because he knew English so well. I do not remember if they have joiner fees???
But my vote for the best is definitely the JW Marriott. Talk about TG friendly. A few weeks ago a friend and I had suites (Free upgrades) and we showed up totally drunk with four TG's in tow. Well we got a personnal escort to our room by security with absoutely No hassles, requests for ID cards. joiner fees etc... The party lasted until 6:00 AM. We were ordering food, bottles of Johnnie..then mixers.. Room service was hopping.. what fun.
The next day the party room looked so bad that we were embarassed and pre-cleaned it ourselves before letting the maids in.
With the SARS problem, you may be able to get a room there now for the same 1,000 THB
