Sukhumvit 5* include JW Marriott, Westin Grande Sukhumvit and Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit as far as I know. Most likely you'll get the JW or WGS.

Bid $55.00 on priceline, total $71.00 got the Jw July16,17,20. Very nice property, for the money, Priceline transaction smooth, Only trouble was recieved two twin beds for first night, upgraded to king for other nights. I would stay there again at that price.

bkktg £23 for JW is amazing how did you manage that? never heard of anyone getting such a low price. Two weeks ago they would not take 460 HK$ for a suk hotel, they wrote back offering one at 500. The other night got the JW for £40, still a good deal.
Padaman as far as I know the only five stars on suk are the JW and GW, never heard of anyone getting the sheraton-peter

There was a £10 per night bonus before on priceline.co.uk. So, Priceline paid £33 which is pretty much equivalent to the usual $55. I got the £23 rate peak season (around new year, 7 days).

I'm new to priceline, how does it work?
It seems that you only can choose area (Sukhumvit), star-rating (****) and a bid.
How do I get JW or likely, should I bid for example:
Sukhumvit, 55USD, 4Star??
Advice please, need to book soon...

JV you cannot choose a hotel that's the gamble. On suk there are two 5 stars the JW and the GW above robbinsons. How priceline works is a mystery to me, just keep trying. Problem is that if you go too high and you get the GW you may find you paid the same or even more than you could have booked it for online. JW is great I prefer it to the sheraton grand suk, although that place does have hi fi in the rooms-peter

sheraton grande is not a 5*?? or does it mean it is not in the priceline selection and only grande westin and jw marriot are??

SGS has come up on Priceline before but their rate is significantly higher than JW/WGS.
Non-priceline cheap deals at the Westin are pretty much over as most of the rooms should be renovated by now.

Forgive me for my ignorance. These 5 star as opposed to the 3-star .. are they still girl friendly or is there any other reasons that I am not aware off. All the information that I have gathered so far indicate that these 5 star hotels may not be a good place to have some fun. Can someone please rectify my ignorance.
