I stay at Sommerset hotel for two night, friendly hotel. For 1600Bath a night. Bring back as many t/g as I want no question ask. just a walk down from manhattan hotel. safety box in room. I would give a two star for appearance.

i spent 3 nights 6 month ago. 1800 Baht for a superior room.
the place is ok but for this price you coud find much much better.
No problem ant tax to bring a guest.
If you really don't find something else, don't forget to book double (anyway same price)

I stayed here for 2 nights in March 05, I arrived at 7.30am and was worried about checking in early but it was no problem and no extra charge. I paid 1590 baht all in with breakfast per night. The hotel room was a bit worn out, but fine for the price, in room safe, mini bar, cable tv. The staff were very friendly. I did not get any hassle bringing a Bargirl back to the room and no charge. The breakfast buffet was very nice, I booked a twin room so got 2 vouchers for breakfast every morning, the choice of Thai or western food I was impressed. Did not find any problems with anything actually. The hotel is in a good spot and quiet in the night, You are not far from Nana and Soi cowboy is very close.

Stayed there 28th of mars 2005 and I am very impressed about this hotel.
Stayed in the junior suite on 3rd. Newly renovated and on the same floor as the swimming pool, fitness room and sauna.
Absolutely no hassel with bringing your lady of the night.
The official rate is baht 7.000,- but that can be negotiated down a lot. I got a superspecial deal and it will be my favorit hotel in the future as they promised to give me this rate every time.
Remember to book the 3rd floor as that is the only one so far that is renovated. All rooms in this floor is deluxe, 301 is the junior suite.

Any news on Somerset Lake Point (hence, reviving this thread) ?
I'm considering booking for a couple of days there on my next trip, but was wondering about such details as:
- What do they charge for daily internet usage, as they seem to charge separately for it, and various reviews rate it as 'expensive'.
- Anyone stayed there lately (i.e. within the past 6 months, or less) and know what their accommodations in Tower B are like?
- Do all of their rooms have balconies, or only selected ones?
- How sizable are their pool, and their gym?
I'd prefer to crash at Centre Point Petchburi, but I want to try something new.

Stayed here for 3 nights in Dec. room was large and well appointed. It had a small deck, and great views. I brought back a couple of girls all 3 nights without any problem. My only bitches were that: the pool was a bit small and shaded, the place is a kilo from Suk, and the breakfast room was too small and always packed to the gills. I think I paid around 2k. I'll definitely be back. wj
