Quick question, How easy it is to extend the the stay with the hotels (especially Mannhatten ). Is it OK to let say stay there for 4 days and then renew it for another 3 days, without much problem?

If you are staying at a popular hotel like the Manhattan during high season, you may have a difficult time extending your stay. I was at the Manhattan at the beginning of September and the hotel was full. I witnessed the hotel turned away a couple of walk-ins.
Also, (I kinda remember reading this in another thread) you may not be able to get the special internet rate of an online booking website if you try to extend your stay at the front desk. However, you may be able to book more days at the special rate by using an online booking website at an internet cafe while in BKK.

One thing I have noticed regarding all the different online booking websites...some of the prices quoted include taxes but some do not (e.g. Precision Reservations). You need to read the fine prints. Taxes on a US$22.00 double room at the Manhattan is about US$4.57 per day.

Yep that's exactly right mm3. I initially got excited when booking thru Precision Reservations, but then found this is about the same price as other online booking agents once taxes etc were included.

Thanks mm3, you are right. I tried to book Manhattan from Oct 31 to Nov 9 and it is fully booked  I got to find an alternative now... If anyone have some idea, advices are very much appreciated.

Sorry to hear that the Manhattan is fully booked. Have you tried the Majestic Suites? It's pretty popular with the bros too. It's a much smaller hotel but it's right around the corner of NEP. The room size is smaller than the Manhattan but nicer. The cost for a double is 1500 baht. I have never seen the MS on any of the online booking sites so I am not sure if you can get a discount on the 1500 baht. MS's website is:

Try the Leela Inn. It is definitely girl friendly and the staff is super friendly. And they have a couple of cute waitresses and other staffers

Thanks SB, the Leela Inn looks good and I found a good internet rate.
Only downside is it appears a long way down Soi Nana. How long does it take to walk to Sukhumvit Rd???

Ktmdude, only at 10 minute walk to sukhumvit road. A 5 minute walk to Plaza Entertainment (or Cupidy) if you like.
