if an hotel set a fee for a double than I have the right to bring inside whonever I want. If You don't want it, give me a 50% discount for the price of the room.

I don't understand all the negativity about the Regency being girlfriendly.
I repeat, I have never had a problem, and over new year ( the western one ) two friends of mine stayed there as well as me. They went wild with different girls everyday, sometimes ST a couple of times a day - they had no problems either.
I paid 900 a night then. Room charge is room charge and is the same for one or two.
I even took three girls to my room one afternoon, one being my regular, the other two were her friends ( not for action - just a few drinks before we went out ) and the staff didn't bat an eyelid.
Ok, I have had one problem with room service one night. At 3 am when I tried to get some food and couldn't. They had run out of what I wanted !!! 
Yes, there are other hotels around, and yes I prefer the Novo Lotus too but until the Regency stops me with a girl I will defend it

I stayed there last year and got stung for 500B joiner fee, even after booking a double. I would not recomend this place as loads of better places arround................ but I did get my own back when I checked out as there computers were down so could not print out my bill, and what they asked for was far less than I owed them................
And its the only hotel I have ever stayed in that has condoms as part of its in room bar and snacks......
Stay away would be my vote..............

Regency is a good hotel, the first hotel I stayed in Bkk, never had a problem. But as I have said before, if reception tries to stick you ujp for 500b extra, tell them to fcuk off, you have paid for your room and that is that, ask to see the manager, ask for a refund and you will move to another hotel. A lot of the time it is after hours staff or security staff just sticking you up for the extra and if your silly enough to pay it, then they will happily oblige and accept it. Stand up for yourself and tell them to go jump, or do something about it. I have never had to pay a joiner fee, I have only been asked once and I told them to fcuk off, it worked.

I am in the Regency Park hotel right now - am typing this from my room. I have been here for 5 weeks.
Guest policy: I asked the manager directly. He explained to me the service charge is 600 baht (US$ 15). Okay, I brought a girl in. The desk clerk reminded me of the service charge. I agreed. The security guard at the elevator reminded me of the service charge - and took the girl's ID card. Okay with me. However, the service charge did NOT appear on my room bill. This is Thailand.
Everyone was very polite and very respectful. Nobody caused embarassment to me or the lady guest.
When the lady left the next morning - before dawn - the front desk called asking, "Your guest is leaving. Is everything okay?" I like that attention to detail.
Now I am continuing my stay at the Regency Park - at the monthly rate. As part of the rate I requested no service charge for a lady guest. The manager quickly and easily agreed. So if you are here a month or more, that is the approach to use.
I can highly recommend the Regency Park. It is a small, boutique hotel: about 100 rooms. I have a deluxe room. Costs more per night than a standard room, but on a monthly basis, you can get a deluxe room for no extra charge.
The room is clean and very attractive. Everything works. The furniture is in good condition. The room is quiet with no noise from adjoining rooms.
However, be careful about which side of the hotel your room is on. The quiet side is the South side, facing the Imperial Queen's Park hotel. The problem is on the North side - towards Sukhumvit - there is a huge construction project just starting. It looks like it will go on for at least a year. It is dirty and noisy. Construction starts early in the morning and continues until late at night - with huge machines. It would not be a pleasant experience to have a room on the North side.
The included buffet breakfast has lots of variety, and is fresh and delicious. There is a wide assortment of American, European and Thai foods. They will cook eggs to your order. The breakfast buffet is open until 11:00 AM. Highly recommended.
There is plenty of nightlife: two bars in the hotel building itself, another across the street. The small, older, but cozy, bars of Washington Square are right in front of the hotel. Just down the same block are the bars of Queen's Park Plaza - about 15 relaxed and comfortable open-air bars. There is no shortage of entertainment within a few meters of the front door.

Service charge? I never heard a JF called this before, what service are they providing exactly? It's the girls who provide the service. I agree as above who needs the hassle, this place is a another rip off joint-peter

I hadn't seen any recent posts on the Regency Park Hotel, so I used the search engine. Good for me!
I stayed here just before Easter and had no trouble at all bringing two young ladies to my room. They arrived at the hotel about 30 minutes after me and were not stopped.
On April 30 I checked in again and was asked how many people. I said I had booked a double, so there would be two people. I was not asked for a name. That night I arranged for a TG to come to my room and when she arrived she was stopped and I got a call from reception saying they would charge me an additional 600 baht, even though she was only staying an hour. When I checked out I was not charged so I thought they had just forgotten about it. When I checked in again last weekend I was presented with the bill for 600 baht from the previous week. Again I was asked how many people for the room and I again said two because I had booked a double. This time they asked me for a name, so I put down Mrs.....
I didn't barfine any girl from the cocktail lounge of B52 pool bar or whatever it is.
I spoke to the hotel GM and he said it was hotel policy to charge an extra 600 baht for visitors. When I asked him what would happen if I took someone to my room during the day, or if I arranged an outcall massage girl to come to my room, he suggested I should speak to another staff member who was in charge of rooms.
I'll be trying somewhere else next trip.
