I use the airport taxi service to Pattaya which is 1500 baht.
I don't recommend taking a normal street taxi although it may be cheaper. The cars are often not in good condition and the drivers are not necessarily knowlegable when it comes to Pattaya.
An extra 500baht is only a little over 10 bucks!
I will be using the taxi service again on the 8th of Jan to Pattaya. Bring it on!

Price is per taxi. When travelling with 3 guys, including bags, may I suggest you take the 'regular' limo service for B 1500. This way you have at least a bit of space. And what is B 500 per person? Just the first round of drinks....

Namda, sounds like you need to do alot more research before your first trip. BTW you can just book taxi on arrival at the airport.

I thought there was a single queue at Don Muang airport for taxis. This queue will result in the passenger obtaining an "Airport Taxi", at least that is my understanding. Are you referring to going upstairs to the Departures area and getting a "regular" taxi at lower cost?

There is a special limo service to Pattaya, cars are in good shape, I had a Camry last few times, and the booking desk is inside the airport just as you exit customs.
Go to the desk ask for a limo to Pattaya and there are guys waiting to take you for 1500baht.
Re Hotels.
I booked Eastiny Place over the net yesterday and it was confirmed today for the second week of January.
Price was 950 b which is more than usual but for peace
of mind and considering that it is still good value at that price I am happy.
7 days to go....
