Umm..I heard Nana is trashy, that's not my style. I'm a clean guy and like a clean place and I am not a party animal (I dont smoke or drink!) so I dont need those kinds of places. However, Majestic and Grand President are very doable except that GP now charges 1600 for the Topaz room (Used to be in the 1200's) and the quality has not improved and is getting more run down every day. So that only leaves Majestic or Swiss Grottino.

I've been advised that the suites at the Nana Hotel are better quality, i.e., cleaner, than the single rooms.

I've stayed in a Nana suite (jan 03) - larger, but still a bit tired IMHO. They are good value.
I'm considering the Solitaire, just to be somehwere nicer for a change, and plan to be tucked up in my room by 10:00pm each night....

OK, I've been in the Solitaire for a week and I LOVE the suite. The girls RARELY use the 42" TV and prefer the smaller 27" or 32" in the living room.
FOOD: I can't tell the difference, but my regular girls friends, once they have eaten at the Solitare, DON'T want to eat there again. They will tell me they are not hungry, but when I offer to take them up to the street to the Federal Coffee Shop, they jump at the chance. Yesterday morning the Bar Girl Du Jour, when I asked if she would like to go to the hotel restaurant or order room service, said, "can we go to Federal?"
Jacuzzi: Haven't used it much. Used it myself when tired. Girls don't seem to have much interest in the Jacuzzi. The water at the hotel SUCKS. You don't notice if you just shower, but if you fill the Jacuzzi, throw in some soap, turn it on and soon you seen a yellow "film" on the soap bubbles. Staff is almost too attentive. Always opening door, etc., etc. Maid is great.
Very good service. Security has pissed me off more than once. I realized it is for my safety, but the other morning one of the girls told me that if I'm not with them when they leave the hotel the guard makes them leave via the parking garage. Overall, I give them very high marks and will stay there again. After this it would hard, if not impossible, to go back to a dive like the Federal Hotel. Love the people at the Federal and food is good, but the rooms are worn out and not worth what little they ask for the daily rate.

curious as to which room you are staying in. I'm booked in Jul for the Executive Room (50m2) at THB2700++ so around THB3200 all up. Other comment is that I should pay a little more and stay at the Amri (Soi 5?) or JW Marriot.
any thoughts?

Hi Yendor, I stay at Solitaire reguarly and apart from the Food (and I mean mainly breakfast) it is a great place to stay. The staff are very polite & efficient & girl friendly. I was surprised about the comment from Sanook on making his girl leave through the Garage, this I have never seen happen?
It is a lot more private than the JW and quieter in general! Plus the rooms are outstanding!

I agree, the suites are outstanding. The regular rooms also appear to be quite nice. You can get a suite at the Solitaire for what you would pay for a regular room at the JW or Landmark. The girl sitting next to me, as I write this, just confirmed that they will tell the girl she has to leave through the garage if not escorted by her customer. She tells me it is a management policy.

Funny, that (as far as I know) has never happened to my girls!!! I do often walk to the Door with them so maybe that is the reason. It is a great place to play & stay!
