i can recommend the buffet an the athene plaza, excellent food ( thai, western and japanese including fresh lobster) at about thb 1000 per person. dont go to late in the evening, because the buffet closes.
i have not stayed there, so I dont know about girlfriendly or not. the recepcion area looks impressive.
have a good meal

Recommend walking from Plaza Athenee to Nana. Go out the back driveway (opposite direction of Wireless Rd) to Soi Ruamrudee and turn left on the street. Go to end and make a right and you will be right near Ploenchit BTS station. It will only be a 5 minute walk from here to Nana rather than skytrain. Also, to take a taxi is a bigger exercise as they have to go the long way around because of one way streets.
Coming back is a breeze in the taxi as the street directions are in your favor.

Buxeda, the price is not exactly right for the buffet. Weekdays it is around Baht 650. Sundays it is about 850. Of course, you have to add the 10% + 7%.... and drinks.... so yes,.....it may come to close to 1,100 per person ON Sundays.
I agree very good buffet.

Incorrect information: upscale hotels are ok to get as far as Baron's or others MP when comes to extras....
This said by experience and numerous reports from reliable sources, i.e. friends and clients......
Then, of course, you can't jump on the first girl you meet, check her attitude or you may find yourself explaining to the Hotel Manager why you were trying to insert your fingers in the girl's pussy....

I would like to know if this hotel is girl friendly. I am deciding between Westin and Plaza Anthenee which is on Wireless Road. It is a newer hotel so I am keen to try it. I am planning a trip in September so if anyone has any info would be much appreciated. Thanks.

My vote goes to Westin....for its gorgeous staff and its great location just in the middle of the action!
Plaza Athenee is a truly corporate hotel...perhaps too fancy and the walk of shame is really looooong!
Btw, if memory serves me well, both are not girl friendly....

From the forums I have read that there have been no problems at Westin which is the same at the Sheraton. Only thing I am more inclined to Plaza Anthenee has more restaurants for me to try on my 5 day trip. Also is the hotel too far away from all the action? Look forward to hearing more from others.
