You know every time I've tried to check in to the Nana after midnight they usually say they have no rooms available. Then when I turned away suddenly the expensive suite just opened up. Also, when I did have reservations they gave my room away and I had to stay at one of the more expensive rooms. Well this time they said all the expensive rooms are booked so I'll just wander in when I get there in 2 weeks to see if they lied to me...

I love the Nana.
Don't touch the walls, and wear sandals in the room, you'll be fine. Don't look under the bed though.
I've e-mailed and had confirmation # for the deluxe, and shown up, and they've told me they have no knowledge, like three times. I've shown up with confirmation, and have been told they're sold out. I've booked and paid for a "deluxe" and been taken to a "standard". I got the "suite" once without asking twice. The logic. None.
The Nana is a crap-shoot, just like the disco. I usually stroll in off the street, and POLITELY ask if there is a room, if yes, I ask if I can have a deluxe, and pull out a 100 baht note and place it on the counter. After 4 miniues of checking, SOMETIMES they give me a deluxe. The Mmong ladies with the very long straight hair and thousands of bracelets are nice, but worn and tired.
I never count on getting a room. My plan B, is across the street. The Dynasty Inn does not have a breakfast buffet included, nor paper, nor pool, but the rooms are better than the Nana for the same price, actually 1000 baht. And it's right across the street from the Nana. I get the disco girls to my room at the Dynasty as fast as I can to the Nana rm. But no buffet.
I like the breakfast, and they're are some hostess types that make the experience on the eyes that much more pleasant. Good Luck.
Forget about the reservations though, in MHO.

Heard Nana's rooms went a renovation and are very nice and clean - any confirmations and recent visits?
Web: http://www.nanahotel.co.th/html/tariff.html shows nice rooms (prices are higher than what you get at asiarooms.com but for the view seems the suite looks nice with a Jacuzzi...).
At 1333B double incl. tax and breaky (asiarooms.com price), this could be the best deal in town given the location...

Yes it could be a good deal if Asia Rooms actually charged in the currency they advertise?
They advertise 1,338 THB per night inc ABF.
However when you go to the booking form, they advise that your credit card will be charged 41USD. There is no option for being charged in Thai Baht.
So they advertise in Thai Baht and charge in USD. Me thinks its therefore impossible to compare rates with other sites who advertise and sell in Thai Baht.
If we compare, we should be clear we are using the same currency.

They cannot charge you in Thai Baht.
They use Dynamic Currency conversion. Whereby they receive 1% commission from the transaction. You get stiffed on the rate. We did use the same company for the first 6 months till some customers got so angry with the strange exchange rate. We changed back to a regular Thai bank to process the transactions.
Hence the 8 currencies offered are the ones which give this kickback.
On a yearly revenue of 250 Million Usd, they are laughing all the way to the bank.
Pls try to get Asiarooms to charge you in THB, you will find out the truth.

They are renovating the rooms. I think the rooms smell of new paint and you can wake up in thinner fumes great and the carpet is new too let`s see for how long they last.  
They started a year ago so perhaps they are done.

Even if I pay in US$ to asiarooms.com, it still saves me a 3% fee charged when I pay with my US issued credit card in Bhat so not a biggie and under $41 per night for double, incl. tax and breaky is a very good deal!!
Thai B to US$ as per Yahoo, is 33.150. So 41*33.150=1359Bhat and this is what asiarooms.com charges - $41. So I am happy! This could be a better deal than 1) paying in Bhat, getting a less good rate of exchange and, adding the 3% visa or mastercard fees (in addition to thai bank fees).
But does not matter - point is not to go with asiarooms.com or not, but point was about the Nana hotel being renovated.
