Yeah Finkster the floors are carpeted and the room I stayed in had a bath. Still think the Dynasty is better value for money.

Yeah... thought about Dynasty Inn, but I didn't want a place too close to NEP. Crowded and noisy.
pinga: U mean 50m from Sukhumvit Rd, or 50m from Soi 7, plus another distance from Sukhumvit? Maps I have never show this accurately. Very deceiving, some show very near the main road, others show way up the Soi.

It really is only 50-75 metres from Sukhumvit and right opposite Beer garden. Stayed there years ago before it was renovated. OK place...it's got an in-house massage I believe. Prefer the Federal which you can get to easily by walking through The Park Hotel carpark across to Soi 11.

I have gone to the Park, though the unfriendly desk staff, and announcement of no guests, was a definate turn off.
I've stayed at Dynasty bunches of times, and while they don't have the pool and buffet that Nana does, the back wings are very quiet and nicely appointed, with the alley entrance to avoid the perp walk. Never ever had a BG say anything negative, and the deskk staff are pleasant with 24 hr. room service.

I have stopped at both, the park rates as one of my worse places to stay in BKK, but location good, I used in a previous trip as a second place while I had my regular TG safe in Soi22......
Both Park and federal are tired hotels but federal is def better staff and more welcoming........ and cheaper 2...

It's interesting that the Park has a reputation for refusing girls entry. That was not my impression from talking to a friend that stayed there.
As for it being tired, I visited the guy's room (he was doing long-term stay), and it was a spacious, clean room. Great place. I think he said it was one of the newly remodeled rooms, so that may be part of it.
This was in May 2004, btw.

I had no problem with the girls entry, but as suggested before I kept my key and just walked straight to the elevator with my date, I only had one room on the 5th and it had def seen its best days, but was ok for a few nights but would not have liked to live there for longer
