I stayed there for a couple of nights right after Christmas with my wife, daughter and a friend of hers. We had two rooms and I thought the hotel was fine.
While the location isn't the greatest, the tuk tuk was there when we needed it and they were more than happy to take my daughter and her friend to a shopping mall and then pick them up when they finished.
I did have a slight problem with the A/C but it was finally settled to my satisfaction when they provided a fan for my use.
I particularly enjoyed Toxic and having a chance to meet some of the BTF guys I had not met before. Rtb is a gracious host and will do you right. A good place to chat and meet people (remember, my wife was with me so no hanky-panky was permitted).
I will stay there again and recommend the place to our members.

town lodge is 10/10
it is a laid back hotel no one trying to rip you off toxic bar is good also including jen sexiest bar maid in bkk
no guest charge also a bonus I had jakuzzi room (amazing )

What is so special you would pay 2900 baht per night for a room at this hotel? Granted the bartender is HOT but unless she comes with the room forget it.

If you take the trouble to read just a small part of the thread you will find that the 2,900 is for the room with a Jacuzzi...

Well, TPE II. You will not have any competition from me for the room with the Jacuzzi. Yes, I did see that the room had a Jacuzzi. Again, still not worth 2900baht. Thats higher than the best rate at Majestic Grande and not nearly the hotel imho.

Town Lodge is truely a waste of money and source of trouble. The toilet in my jac room (2900 BHT) was broken 2 out 3 days. On top they managed to loose my laundry. So I left disillusioned. I got my clothes back 1 week later, though. But, I had to buy new clothes for me in the meantime.
Majestic Grande is my #1 place now. Go for it !

This post concerns the Swiss Grottino as well as the TL. I booked the SG for the beggining and end of my trip. Recieved my confirmation from Daniel. No prob. Ptty in the "middle."
Upon my first check out from the SG decided to make sure about my second reservation when I got back from Ptty. To my surprise I was not booked--keeping cool I asked the ladies what thay are going to do. I got the Thai reponce oh well nothing we can do. Talked to the bigger Swiss fellow who was nice enough to book me into the town lodge.
He even got me the first night in the suite at the standard rm rate then a standard room for my next two nights. Hey great no problem.
Got back from Ptty to the Town Lodge and everything was as said. Anyway got up early for my check out three nights later and nothing was as said.
First the night front desk lady charged me 2900 for my first night and second did not know how to make a credit card transaction. She was not informedl of the rm rate arrangement. Also on my first night the in the TL room safe did not work and I put my valuables in the front desk safe. Went out late that night and went to get my valuables from this night clerk and she did not know the combo. You get in morning was my responce. No money, no passport and no ATM cards. Stuck in for the night.
Morrow of the story:
When checking in to either the SG or the TL completely check and review you reservations on your first day. They (SG staff) write things down in a book and has high degree of human error.
Try to check out on the day before your early departure so you can pay by credit card and settle any disputes. My bill was 3600bt and I ended up just giving them a $100 bill for the bill. Also informed that my first night was supposed to be 1200bt not 2900 bt and told them to e-mail me if any problem.
The night desk person at the TL is clueless.
Now armed with this info--I will cont to stay at the SG or Town Logde--just have to be vigulent about res and the bill.
