Majestic Grande: On Feb 26 I got upgraded to Executive Suite on 23rd floor after booking standard (?) room via Majestic Suites for 2700 Baht. Very GF, very good breakfast, very polite, helpful and friendly staff. Although Majestic Suites is not to beat in terms of location, the distance to NEP through Raja's carpark is no problem at all.

Oic. So the actual price is about the same as you would find on asiarooms.com as well (~US$71). Still a good deal. I think I'll be staying here for my trip, unless there's another hotel in the Nana Plaza area that you would recommend? Basically my budget is $75 or less, & would prefer to stay at a nice place that affords me the convenience of location as well.
Would still call Majestic Suites for the rate booking through them. I think the rate is better than $71. I'm thinking like $55 but cannot remember the exact price.

It was never US$55 through MS. It shows now at asiarooms.com as 2660 b for single/double incl. breakfast and taxes. I think MS used to offer it at 2500b which was the best rate for openning. 2500/55 is 45.45 thai b per us$, have not seen such a rate for a very long time...

Wow, and I thought I was getting good value for money at 2900 (incl break) in my 20th floor Grande Superior room!
That is one hell of an upgrade - 65 sqm for 2700 Baht!

Bangkok hotels across the board are offering special deals for late March, early April. Probably because of (presumed) tourist and business traveler worries ahead of the elections plus the customary Songkran slowdown.

must be a louzy place if the reservations requests are answered by the general manager... They dont have a reservations department? Does not predict any good. I would rather try the Amari Boulevard Hotel, which is much better located on sukhumvit and has the sky train almost in front of the door.

Yeah, well that's fine if you want to pay for more expensive accomodations. Not all of us are operating on the same budgets. For my money, the Majestic Grande is giving me convenience of location, quality of accomodations, & girl friendliness along w/breakfast. Can't beat that for what I'm looking for.

That reservation for Majestic Grande was booked through Majestic Suites ---- that is why it was answered by the general manager. Many hotels do not have a "reservation department" nothing strange about that.
