As there are cheap internet shops/cafes all over the place I don't think its worth bringing a laptop for that alone. I'll be travelling for quite a few months so don't need the extra baggage and worry, however, what I do need is a way to download my digital photos off my digicam memory card to free it up again. I want to be able to transfer my snaps to CD. Does anyone know any photographic shops that will do this so I can avoid bringing my laptop ?

I just got back from the LOS...
Wish I had brought my laptop... not for the connectivity... but to verify the mass of stuff I picked up from Pantip Plaza... (i.e. bootleg heaven... 
Connectivity at the various cafe's at 1 bhat/min is cheap enough...

I still like to take my laptop with me. The convenience of being able to use it in the room and listen to music and downloading images from my digital.
Not to mention being able to use it on the plane.
But ... I can understand if the laptop is too much of a hassle for others why they would not want to bring it with them.
