yes, from the postings that I have read, the 'Shang' is girl friendly. if booking there, the 'K' wing is the better of the 2 wings to stay at. i've never stayed there, but got the information from the posts.

Though I have used Priceline before and booked JWM, Sukumvit, I am at loss to use the new site. Can any one let me know what are hotels listed in different categories, in various areas of BKK. Thanks in advance

I made some bids in PL just now and got screwed. I wanted JW and close to Nana and they wind up giving me Westin Grande instead. Is there a way I can back out and get my refund back ?

I think the Priceline bids are non-fundable. That's one reason why they are so cheap. The Westin is not far away from Nana, just a 10 baht hop on the BTS Skytrain if you don't want to walk.

I just used priceline last night and got the JW Marriott on suk. 4 for $56/night. The key to getting the JW is that when you bid you must choose the 5 star hotels in the sukhumvit area. If you choose the 5 star it will only give you two choices that being the Landmark or the JW.
If you go for the 4 star you'll never get the JW. Hope that helps..?

I'm so used to staying in small hotels like Grand Inn and Majestic that is less than a minute walk from Nana. My trip agenda might change a bit. Maybe a bit more Soi Cowboy than originally planned. The one bonus is that I like using the Internet Cafe in the Times Square plaza across the street. So, I'm just across the street from there now. Does anyone know of the quality and price of the high speed internet connection that Westin claims to offer ?
Westin is also listed as a 5 star hotel in the suk area...

Does anyone know what sort of info Priceline.com give the Hotels when offering them a bid?
I wouldn't mind staying in a 5* Hotel for the first part of my stay in LOS. (First 10 days will be spent in BKK, then 3 Days in Phuket and then the last day in BKK).
While in BKK I will be needing 2 rooms for 10 days each and am limited to about US$1500 for the lot. That works out to be US$75/room. Taking into consideration the taxes and service charges - that leaves it at about US$64/room.
I have seen successful bids for 5* in Suk area between US$52 - US$60 but these appear to have been in "low season". Anyone have any idea of how my bid of US$60-65 will stand for 1st Nov - 11th Nov?
I plan on getting my hotel in Phuket when I get there - walk in rates (bargined of course) and my final 1 night stay in BKK will be the same - just pick something and walk in...
If my bid is a too low (I don't really want to go any higher) what sort of Hotels could I be looking at in the 4* range for the same area? Also, anyone got a general price I should start with?
I have plenty of time to organise Hotels so I don't mind having to submit a new bid a few times

Don't know about the Westin, but I am at the Times Square Internet Cafe right now. Actually there are 2 on the second floor. The standard rate is 1 baht per minute but they both special rate of 1/2 baht per minute if you buy a membership (about 600 minutes). The first one you see on the second floor has lousy hours, so use the one further down the hall if you buy a membership.
