It's true I don't interact with polite Thai society but people tend to have the same general prejudice world wide or at least in the places I've traveled and I've been to a lot of different countries.

I don't think Thais look down on farangs. I just think there is sometimes a certain resentment. But that is a pretty much universal situation in all societies.

If you want to experience resentment from the locals, try spending some time in Jakarta.
The economic divide is further exascerbated by the religio-political divide. As a six foot four, blond Brit/Kiwi/Aussie, I often feel about as welcome there as a fart in a flowershop.

On the BK's link under Precision Reservations I just checked and it is really mentioned 97 USD plus taxes as usual. Now, before making the reservation (it would be my first one through this website because usually I use the Marriott direct website), am I sure that when I will check in I will find availability? It sounds to me a bit strange that I can have a 97 USD rate when at the same time on the Marriott website it is mentioned full booked! I do not want any hassle to arrive at Marriott and find no availability and start finding other solutions! Also, even if I book with the Precision Reservations website, can I be credited with the points for my staying at Marriott considered that I have a Marriott card?
Sorry for bothering you with all these questions guys!

PT Marriott Reward points are based upon the dollar amount you spend for the room is does not matter who you booked with you will get the points.
Sometimes they have blocks of rooms alocated to travel agents is why it may appear booked at the Marriott site.
Depending on your card level they have to guarantee you a room if Gold or Platnium. Last time I was there they ran out of regular rooms and asked me it was OK to upgraded to a suite FOC. Sweet!

Marriott Points....Vs nights for Membership level
I convert to UA miles (at 3 x) and didn't get a convert when I used priceline last year. I just wanted to give it a try.
The best...Gov Rate. 97 ++ and you get points. Right now they have a summer visa thing at same same gov rate but you get the breakfast buffett free. For those whom have not had that bountiful offering....Plan on an hour, go slow and enjoy. No lunch that day!

BK's Link on the main website directed you to R24 reservation network, They have even cheaper rate at about USD91++. When you email them, they will re confrim whether the room is available.
