I did see some of them when I stayed in October last year.
But most places have them I guess In a five star hotel the cockroach have a few cocktail glasses in the :?: hands and wear a tuxedo.

The high floors should be the nice ones. I was looking around Nov 2006 just to check things, before renovation. Could not see any bugs, but then again they may come out at night... for the night life of course 
I am looking at the pictures for the suite: http://www.nanahotel.co.th/html/tariff.html looks a nice big round Jacuzzi for 2490B double, tax and breaky included. Not bad, given that the Swiss Grottino charges 2100B without breaky (for two, add 300B or so comes to about the same) for a regular room (from Oct 2008 price raised as above!).
I suppose for the suites one needs to deal directly with the hotel, i.e. no discounts but then no need pay upfront and the front desk should be nicer with you (booking directly with them). I did see the mean front desk old lady but just joke with her - talk her pak wan how she is pretty and jai dee etc. and you will see how far this gets you room wise She went to show me a few room Nov 2006 and told me about the upper floor rooms are better etc.
This is even cheeper than the Town Lodge Jacuzzi suite at 3200B, not to mention location location location.... ! So could be a very good deal... needs more reports from those who really stayed there in the past few months, especially the suite... (though me think those in the know keep this secret to themselves... Only first hand experience please no rumores...

I didn't stay in the suite, but can confirm that standard rooms are much improved over the last time I stayed there. Walls recently painted, no scratches in the woodwork or furnishings, no cigarette burns in the rug. Even a second telephone in the bathroom, but the old rotary type (lest anyone thinks the Nana is going upscale).

Yes, it has definitely been refurbished. I stayed there last year and it was OK - no sign of bugs, no cum stains on the furniture or walls, no evidence of violent altercations in the room, etc. The rooms are basic but OK.

Was in the lobby tonight. The safety deposit boxes are still from the ark (and still down at reception), looks like they've only just got wireless internet, and the staff at reception still look as surly as usual
As a past guest I think I can say with some degree of clarity it still looks a shithole

I will be in BKK in August 2011. I have stayed at the Majestic Suites and this time I think I might stay at Nana. Should I go back to Majestic or would Nana be better. Is it worth getting a suite or should I just stick with a single?
