Grotino has a side entrance separate to the "through the Restaurant" normal entrance or in the case of Town Lodge you have to walk through the very small Lobby!
Grotino's rooms are very quiet with no Traffic noise, only noise issue is if you get a room with the common wall against the next building (Korean Karaoke) you can sometimes hear the music, but it always stops at 1am!

I'm considering giving the Town Lodge a try.
My main concern is the location. I'm sort of familiar in the Sukhumvit area by now, but:
- I stayd in President Park. Great hotel, but I will not stay there again because of the location. Too long walk and the traffic was too crowded for taxi. Only alternative - motorcycle, I'm afraid to get hurt.
So, what is the traffic situation to/from Town Lodge? Smooth taxi trips?

well, it depends on the traffic, e.g. the time of the day...
tuk tuk will bring and get you to close places.

btw. standard room is baht 1'200.00 net. incl. ABF
deluxe is 1'400.00 and jacuzzi suite is 2'900.00

Town Lodge is an 8 minute walk down Soi 18 from Sukhumvit. I liked to get the taxis to go down Soi 20 and take a right turn at the short connection between 18 and 20. Then the cab can just go up 18 to get out. Much easier than trying to do the U-turn to get to the entrance to 18 coming from Lower Suk. Plus it is just a 35B ride from Soi Cowboy. There is also a walkover bridge at the corner of Soi 18 to cross to the other side of Suk.

Thanks, poskat, for that valuable input. I will most likely give Town Lodge a try for the first part of my summer trip - if one of the jacuzzi suites are available.

in february and in march bookings from BTF members were surprisingly low.
a fact I do not believe. I think it is much higher actually, but if the one who books the room does not mention "Bangkoktonight", I have no idea how to find out.

Maybe TL owner does not want pay commision to BK claiming he does not know what guests are BTF members and what just happened to call the hotel by themselves?
