One guy said he was from Nepal. Ruamchitt is becoming a better alternative, but I do like the breakfast and the lobby. I also liked the heart-shaped pool and the sex-starved bored Jap and Kor wives.

I just stayed at Manhattan Hotel. I had a room on a high floor facing the front. No construction on the front of the hotel and heard no noise from the back. The room was in good condition, unlike some of the other reviews, the buffet breakfast was very good, and for the price, its a good deal. I would have stayed more nights if I could.

I will be jetting in about 10 May and staying at the Manhattan. I have asked the BKK agent to book my room at the front as someone suggested a ST ago and will give you guys an update.
It will be great just to wind down, take in a bit of local culture and someone suggested there a few girls hanging around places like, Nana, SCowboy, etc. I did not get the exact address but I think I will stumble on some entertainment somewhere, 555.

Get a room facing the front on a high floor. You get a nice view of the city. If you book double occupancy, you get two breakfast coupons, one for your girl if you lt. Have fun.

Last time I was there in April 2005, no construction facing soi cowboy. I saw no beginnings of anything on that side and there was no space for new buildings.

I am at Manhattan now, arrived early hours of Mon 15 August. 5th floor facing towards Country Rd and SC, quiet as a mouse throughout the night, only noise I heard at 3am was my bed with a 23yo chick bouncing around it.
Woke up 7.30am for ABF, still quiet, walked outside 9am and no noise. I will check for any construction later today and let you guys/girls know.

I stayed there 5 years ago I was happy with the room. I remember it was pretty clean? what do you think?

The room is great, very clean, king size bed (ask for large bed when you make booking) usual 2 towels but if you run out, there are maids on the floor throughout most of the day so you can get new ones.
Bathroom clean, only has small vanity but enough room for 3 people in ;shower.
No noise, there is construction work going on down near soi 19 but only minor and you only really hear it when you open the windows.
Overall the place is great, stayed here in May 05 and nothing has changed. When you bring girls back, security holds onto their ID's but the only snag is that security does not ring you when girls leave. Maybe they are looking to see if girls are carrying out the safe or hve blood splattered over their bodies, hahahaaa.
Cost is 1200b inc ABF and I got this price through my local agent near Ambassador. I think normal price is maybe 1700b but if you want his details just PM me. Large safe in room.
ABF still same, and lot of Japanese here at the moment, they are a friendly lot, you can have a joke with them.
Recommend this place again.

I went for a swim last night Thu 18 Aug and did notice there is some construction going on on the Nana side of the Hotel. This was about 7pm and it was not that loud but could not hear it from inside the hotel only from the pool and level 1,2,.
If I was staying on the Nana side of the Hotel it would not bother me.
