Just got the Westin for 17th,18th June for £41 plus tax, for first couple of nights before I decide my longer term pleasure dome. Would have preferred JW Marriot but luck of the draw.

Would any of you Priceline vets hazard an opinion on which of the Priceline sites-.com ;.com.sg ; or.com.hk- would have be best for Singapore deals? Is the Singapore Priceline the obvious choice, or not?

Just got JW Mariott for July 6-12 for $85 per night. Does anyone know if the Priceline rate includes breakfast? Also are there any tricks to get an upgrade?

No to first question. Don't know about the second question. The basic rooms are fairly nice, and the bathrooms are huge.

Not too crazy as long as you know what the choices are and would be happy with any one of them. 5 star on Suk will get you either the Westin, the Marriott or the Landmark I think, I've only ever had the Westin and the Marriott but for the prices I've paid would have been happy whichever I got.

That is how Priceline works, take it or leave it. You get to pick the area of town and the number of stars. As others have said, there are forums (where people post their experiences of bidding on Priceline) where you can figure out what the likely choices are for a given number of stars. But Priceline gets to choose which one you get based on availability and the price you bid.

Mel A man of yor means should not need to use Priceline If you check out biddingfortravel.com their site tells you which hotels you are likely to get using Priceline in most cities of the world.

I wish I had " his " budget, unfortunately I am just a copy and my bank account looks similiar but has - in front of the figures. Anyway back to the point, the more I look at price-line the more it SUCKS big time. You pay before you know what you are getting ( it must be you lot that are driving up P4P prices doing the same thing). Secondly and MOST importantly the prices I see are NOT that cheap. Quote from hobbyking "July 6-12 for $85 per night. JW Marriot. $85 +Taxes at 21% = $103. No bidding no worries and certain to get the hotel you want look at disount hotels.com $115 JW Marriot. YOU saved $12, lost breakfast and didn't have the choice plus cannot change any dates etc or AHHHH priceline SUX.
