I got rejected at $85 for 5-star in late March, early April. I don't think I'm going to bid any higher. The corporate rates for which I'm eligible (although this will be a private vacation trip) start kicking in just over $100/night and by using them, I can choose the hotel.
But this is the first time in my experience Priceline hasn't worked at $80 - $85. Is there a special event or big conference in town the last two weeks of March?

General "Jingjo" is having a March RT in the last 2 weeks at Toxic. Maybe Priceline.com and the locals have heard about the aussie General coming to town. I doubt if they have ever seen a real live, red Boomer kangaroo out of Mollymook, called General jingjo hopping down Sukumvit Rd on the wrong side of the traffic.
Other than that EP, I cannot think of any other major event. No sorry, can't help.
