I doubt it. I am a resident and do not stay in hotels.
But as a tour guide you have to do your research.... 
Maybe not twice as big, but considerably larger are the rooms in the SG.

rooms at grottino are around 28sqm, town lodge 19sqm.

Nah. Don't send the maid. Send Wowser. He wanted mine.
The Doc's right: the rooms are a bit small. But, perfectly okay for me. Nicely decorated. Shower in the bathroom a bit funky, but I got use to it.
I enjoyed my stay at the Town Lodge, although I had to change my room to the top floor because Wowser was banging his girl (s) so hard. No elevator, so the TGF complained each night as she had to climb the stairs - good for her.
The food at night was very good. Several times my TGF was hungry at night and the cook would whip something up for us. Not always a hugh selection of fresh ingredients, but everything was very tasty.
Good value for the baht. And, Toxic is right downstairs. Maybe the mother/daughter massage duo is still there.
RTB - is the 100bt voucher for Toxic promotion still on?

no the promotion is not on anymore.
btf still gets its cut from the bookings, but the vouchers were cashed in very rarely.
however, I will make that up and buy a drink for esteemed customers.
so, wowser took that mosquito back to aussieland??
how is lake tahoe, sure looks nice on the web. maybe time to open a thai club up there??

I, too, always cashed my vouchers. Amazing how quickly one can run through the $$$.
