wish i'd taken a look around there last week, but had no idea at the time that I might plan on putting up there soon.
maybe i'll get into that area again before the 23rd, in time to make a reservation that is. I understand the places/hotels are packed now.

Hello chaps,
I just completed a 10 night stay at Majestic Suites and I was extremely impressed by it. My room cost 1650 baht per night (plus 7% VAT) and while admittedly it was on the small side it was spotless, in excellent condition and didn't stink. The bathroom had a deep corner bath (which I put to good use with friends) and my room was made up with fresh sheets and towels each day.
The bed was a quality king-sized mattress and base and was incredibly comfortable. The sheets were good quality, too.
The room has a safe inside the wardrobe and there is a remote control system on the bedside table for the lights, TV and air-conditioner.
The receptionists are all lovely and friendy and the service in the coffee shop downstairs is courteous and efficient.
Guests are welcome and must sign a register on arrival.
I will always stay there whenever I am in Bangkok from now on.

After staying at Majestic Suites multiple times over the last few years I've finally decided to move on. The rooms are just too humid and the mold/mildew smell is getting to be a bit much in my old age. Everything else about the place is fine, and I'll admit that there were some really good memories made on those beds, but that place really needs some more light and fresh air running through it. I even tried leaving the door cracked open to see if that would help but it was simply not enough to get the humidity under control. Maybe if you never took a shower it would be ok, but I'm not about to try that in a city like this.

You want to know something else I like about switching from MS to the Landmark? They let whoever you want come to your room but they also give you a phone call whenever they try to leave so that if there's any foul play going on you at least have a chance to recover from it before you or your stuff is gone forever. And Majestic Suites? Hell no. My one and so far only theft occurred right there at MS and might have been prevented with a simple phone call that never came. Oh well, water under the bridge I guess.
