Did the Grace get good reviews..... probably Mohammed wrote a good review on that dump...

I've seen even bad reviews about the most favorite 5 star hotels in Bangkok... if that is anything to go by with...

Dr.,a significant number of very unfavourable hotel reviews from apparently bona fide travellers on a reputable hotel reservation web site has to make one think twice about staying at the Unico Leela, especially for more than a few days.

The lobby looks really nice, smells good too. I hear that the breakfast is pretty good as well. It is a 10 minute walk to Sukhumvit Road or to Gullivers on Soi 5 or Soi 11. If you want to get on the BTS, it would probably be easier to get on a taxi to the Nana BTS.

The standard single/twin (is 1,050 B from R24) room doesn't have any windows though.

Good so your teelak can not be distracted from her job...

Anyway if there were windows, the view won't be much... one side on a dirty channel, the other on the parking lot.

Maybe having no windows is a blessing...

If you get the Deluxe room at the corner, you do get a nice view of Soi 3 and canal view.

I booked the standard room, my room had a window. Maybe I was lucky. The layout of the hallways is kinda weird, it is a "thick" building so there are rooms without windows.

Lobby is remodeled and new. Breakfast is good. Free parking right outside the hotel too.

Inside the room, it was clean. I had to call for towels, they forgot to put them in the room.

Because Soi 3 is one way, getting there takes a little planning, it is closer to Pethburi Rd than Suk.

For the money, it is OK. I'll bet it is far better than the Grace.
