I agree that high season starts 1 Nov but in Pattaya November was a slow month and 1 April, business starts to fall off rapidly. I would expect that hotels will cut prices in early November and the same 1 April. Deals should be aviable due to the bird flu. I read in the Bangkok Post that 30% of the Chinese, Japanese tour groups have cancelled.

i think in general,
peak season = oct - feb
high season = march - may
low season = june - sept
There maybe deals during the low seasons and unfornunate events like the bird flu, just like BigD said. But as far as PL, it's really a crap shoot. I tried and tried, and could not get a room at a recent price during the high season. Then I also read then tons of people got rooms at around $55-60 during the peak season. So, you do your homework about PL and try your luck.

I was in Pataya last march and it was sloow. Came back in may and it was DEAD. Damm near could have gone bowling on Walking Street. Last year they were dealing with SARS.

yep. I don't think getting a good price from PL have that much to do with the different seasons and the volume of customers. you really just have to try your luck.

priceline just accepted 4 nights at shangri-la for mid-april for $60 a night. you guys might be able to get a lower rate, maybe try $50.

Hi all,
I just used PL to book by hotel. I wanted a 5* hotel on suk for march 29 to april 2. I wanted the JW because I stayed there before and it was a great experience. I offered $60 and was rejected. I offered $65 and was accepted but at the Sheraton Grande Hotel. I did a quick look up and it seems like a great hotel too (and girl-friendly). I'm stay in pattaya on april 2 to 4....does PL work there and which hotel is 5* and close to the action (girl-friendly a must). Thx in advance.

No hotels for Pattaya. Hard Rock Hotel, Marriott are 5 star and close to the action. Damm near all the hotels are near the action. Check out http://www.pattayapages.com for accurate info on Pattaya.
