Thought all would be interested in my findings.
When comparing hotel prices in Thailand, you should make sure you are comparing prices on a level playing field.
Some sites advertise the prices in Thai Baht, some in USD. Some sites advertise in Thai Baht, however you get charged in USD. How to do know what exchange rate they will use? Many sites do this.
What appears to be the cheapest rate may be doesn't turn out be. We all know who have the cheapest rates. See their FAQS, you will see that your card is charged in USD. Funny as most sites are based in Thailand, pay Baht to the hotel/wholesaler, why are you charged in USD?

Way back in 2004 I commented how good they where but lately have had some problems & will now in all probability not use them by choice! I believe they may have been bought out as the service has changed for the worse?
Like said before there price is not all inclusive & it is difficult to change anything without incurring very high charges plus they are not responsive if you have a problem booking with them, IMHO & most recent experience. I now use Asia-Hotels.com which have been very good!

Other than the good deal for "Town Lodge" that site does not seem overly cheap.
Lets see,,, looking for a 4star near Sukumvit,, say The Imperial Queens park,, quoted at 3,400BHT,,, but freely available at latestays.com for 2,100 BHT ( disadvantage of only being able to book 14 nights in advance)
Grand President prices look ok through thaihotels,,,,,
President Solitaire looks bloody expensive against http://www.latestays.com
All up I would say TRUST no-one and check, check around,, better to leave a few extra BAHT in a nice ladies pocket than some rich hotel owner or web site on-seller.

Thats fair enough. However you seem to repeatedly say about the deal of http://www.latestays.com and The Imperial Queens park. Yes its a good deal.
Its not guest friendly. Looking at our other hotels I think we come out ok.
Also we are not the cheapest. We have been established only 9 months. The other players 10 years. After 10 years we will have very cheap rates.
We offer the best service. Others may say the price is the most important. It may be until you need any help or something goes wrong. then you send emails and they never get answered or you dont get any refunds
We sell hundreds of rooms at Centre Point Petchburi per month. Our rate is 2055/night for Studio with Kitchen. Latestays is 2730/night for the same room.
I agree that everyone must compare, but remember to compare using the same currency.

the latestay is a big online site with loads of other sites connected to it. Nothing wrong with that. The problem is with online booking they never say 100 % that you have a room even if you pay. They can not book you 100 % trough the internet. I called and asked in Thai and they said book but not sure.

saucytim,, nothing against your site,,, actually I intend to book Town Lodge through you guys on my next trip.
I do keep mentioning the Imperial Queens Park because it is in my opinion an excellent hotel at an excellent price with latestays. ( I was unaware it was girl UN-friendly).
Your deal on Centre point Petchaburi at 2055 BHT is good.

The deal on Im Queen Park is great, wish it was guest friendly. I would promote it like crazy. A classy hotel near The Emporium. You know Mel its market forces, the places where the site can sell a load of rooms can get good prices. The customer needs to be wary about sites that display one currency then charge in another. Who detrmines their rtae of exchange. Sounds like a way to make money, in a sneaky way. May be thats why I am not rich yet.....
