Dirty Guru - five balls in one shot - wow! I have done four balls but alas one was the white and the other, equally unintentionally, the black and that cost me the game. My trick shot is being able to hit a ball! Still love the game though.
More announcements regarding Toxic comming soon that I hope will see a few people comming back here together with a few new faces.
Has the rainy season ended at last? I was greeted by rain every day for my first three weeks here!
atl - thanks for stopping by the other day - it was great to meet a board member. I have sent you an email which you have likely seen before reading this.
Sorry I have been quiet for the last week but had the shovel in hand digging my way through a mountain of jobs. Hopefully getting onto an even keel now though and great feedback from the guests so far.
Anyway the point of the message is to let you know we are having a PARTY NIGHT here on Friday 9th November and I will be putting initial details up on the Promotion section so please check that out and also make a note in your diaries. I will do a reminder or two closer to the date but I am hoping for a good turnout.
Well that is the first month over with and I feel much more settled now. A few hairy moments but we seemed to have survived them and, all in all, it was a decent month.
The Hotel was full for five days over the last weekend of the month which was very encouraging and this led to an increase in Toxic Club trade - given the prices have come down substantially in some areas makes this a good achievement.
The TWO drinks for ONE offer to hotel guests is working well with over a ninety percent take up. The reluctance of some guests to even go into the bar is now being overcome.
We have done a lot of behind the scenes repairs and are slowly moving things forward. When I arrived we had three rooms unavailable due to long standing faults and these have all been attended to so now we have a full compliment of rooms available.
Hopefully by the end of this month we will start doing food from midday for residents and non-residents and there will be a few 'special deals' coming out soon.
All in all I am pleased with the way the business is moving forward and the fact all of the staff are buying in to the change of philosophy and the new systems we have implemented. There is still a long way to go but at least we are on the right track now.
The PARTY NIGHT on 9th November has been postponed, unfortunately. I was perhaps a little premature in arranging this given there remain many things still to do. Hopefully I can re-arrange a bigger and better PARTY in the very near future and certainly before this year is out.
Thank you to everyone for the input I have received and to those of you who have visited me and stopped for a drink and a chat. I hope to see more of you in the near future.
Since two years I consider TL as my second home. I spent a few nights at TL in december/january. It was my first stay there since the managment has changed and I enjoyed every minute of it (except when I had too much screwdrivers).
Sorry for not posting - just been too busy - today is my first full day off since mid September!
Business at the hotel is now increasing and the same applies in the Toxic Club. Numerous issues were dealt with as we progressed through the last quarter of 2012 and we now only have the day to day problems that arise in any establishment.
There was a major hiccup with the Wi-Fi service but that was resolved last week so everything is working just fine.
There has not been much in the way of new developments to progress the business but these have had to be slowed due to the problems being worse and more than any of us had anticipated. I hope the next three months will see us make some positive changes.
We do now offer a FREE late check-out service for those that require this - which is quite a high percentage of guests so far.
The staff here have really changed the atmosphere of the hotel in a positive way and I am delighted with them all.
Winkelreid - I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to your return. As for the 'too many screwdrivers' - well that is down to you.
Happy New Year to you all, Kevin, Town Lodge Hotel
