I really would like to try Town Lodge but the only thing that puts me off is the location.. Generally daytimes I am usually around soi 4 end of town and evenings I start at Nana usually finish at Cowboy.
So for those of you who have stayed there how did you find the getting there and most importantly getting back at the end of the evening..
sometimes I like a takeaway from Soi 7 beer garden and to go to Soi 18 does seem like a long way.. I can see all those extra demands for taxi fare LOL

Location is actually not bad – especially if you end many of your night on Cowboy. The TL tuk-tuk will take you on some short trips – say down to emporium, or to the MRT/BTS station. The traffic flow is good for taking a taxi down toward soi 4/ nana. So if you taxi down to soi 4/nana then end your evening on Cowboy easy walk to TL to end the rotation (or taxi/ tuk-tuk if you don’t want to walk it with lady in tow). Being located at the very end of the soi some taxi drivers will show some reluctance in continuing to go straight down a dead end road.
I am not sure about taxi fare comments from the ladies, I have never had a lady ask me for anything extra no matter where I have stayed.
TL has lighting that comes from under the sides of the bed – sheds just enough light to see without the TG’s getting all shy about having the lights on.

have stayed at Grotino which is a sister hotel which has similar lighting. Must give them a try. will look at rates.

Thoroughly recommend TL
Excellent value for money (best in Bkk IMHO) and a great place to stay.... still going back after approx. 18 visits over the past 2 years.
Staff are great and the "gang" at Toxic are fun to have a late night drink with (or Party all night)
Book through Tim @ THD for a good rate
The access to the end of Soi 18 has never been a problem, it's a little off the beaten path but no issues with Taxis and as stated the Tuk Tuk is available (but don't forget to tip..5555)
Well worth a try, I would be surprised if you did not like it

well I have booked the Town Lodge for my next trip. And at a good rate as adverised on the BKK2night homepage. Unfortunatly the deluxe rooms were taken.
But if the standard rooms are similar to the Swiss Grotino then they will be more than adequate.
As said before it is purely the location that has put me off before.. normaly stay at a residential apartment complex between soi 15 and 19. but as said my end of evening is 90% of the time at cowboy so I suppose no real problem except when I decide to have an evening at Nana...

Lofty, the standard rooms at TL are nice enough but not the same as Swiss Grotinno. You simply cannot get an 1800 BHT room at TL price.
The Spa rooms at TL are VERY nice.
I'll be at TL Sunday nigh for 2 nights before return to Sydney.

Do yourself the favor and try and book the Jacuzzi room #208. This is my ‘normal” room and the best Jacuzzi suite at the TL. 2500 Baht is not all that much and when you bring your lady home with you, she’ll be excited to try the Jacuzzi out with you. A nice bottle of wine or a few beers while chillin in the Jacuzzi with your lady of choice is a very nice and relaxing way to end the hustle and bustle of a night out in BKK!!! I’ve stayed weeks on end in 208 and IMHO, it is the best deal in BKK, bar none!!! I tried out Livingstone Lounge’s Jacuzzi rooms and they do not compare to the ones at TL. All Livingstone has are mostly single Jacuzzi tubs!!!

just stayed at TL once more, was the very 1st customer to have stayed there and continue to stay there. Stayed in 208 for 5 days then went up country and then another 6 days in 208. For value it cant be beaten.

I hope you didn't trash out my Jacuzzi Room #208...? The bed was in decent shape last time I was there. I may have to ask the staff to bring in a new mattress because the way you like to "get-down and get-funky" I'd post a bet the mattress is played out and in dire need of replacement...55555

you mentioned the usage of Tim @ THD. IS that a better way to book the TL than going through their normal booking via their internet site? I know the Jacuzzi Room @ 2500 Bhat a night is standard when booking through the TL. Does Tim or whoeva give a better rate? Pass on the complete email addy or IP please!!!
