DL, you live there so you should stay put. Its clear tourism will suffer and bars will be empty (and hotels). Have been before in such a situation and its no fun. Workers will go back to their home out of bkk as there will be not enough customers to get them stay around (execpt a few old ugly regulars...  . Not in the right mood and the usual for LOS - these are serious problems LOS has now and it is the Thais country, they need to solve on their own.
I am sure I am not the only one to cancel... many do (read news).
Take good care and stay away from streets and massive gatherings. Of course no worry about your saefty as its just an internal Thai issue, as long as you are not near the troubled areas.
But this is not sanook mood at all and it will affect what you get when you visit there... so can wait and see how it goes - next 1-2 weeks are critical IMHO.

Well, I counted at least 100 good looking ones in Rainbow 4 two days ago and Beer Garden had plenty nice ones who were willing to go for a couple of baht.

It has gone beyond a typical thai blodeless coup... this time I'm afraid things will be very ugly in the streets, stay home and keep safe (in Thailand or in your home out of Thailand) or go to another country....
Seeing what is going in BKK me happy I have canceled trip... better safe than sorry you know...
How is Vietnam? Cambodia? S-por? any thoughts?

 this will take a while.
hotel was nearly full the last couple of nights. have not seen any red shirts in days. thaksin on the run and sondhi out of ICU.
things are certainly looking better and I have mounted a machine gun onto the tuktuk.
