I just stayed in a Premier for most of the month of November and the shower is a combined bathtub-shower.

The deluxe (and above) and some of the Premier rooms have separate shower and bathtub.

Stayed in the Grande Wonder Suite for 1 night with my TGF last September. Before then I stayed at the President Solitaire - Platinum Suite. Thought I would give MG a try. The suite is much smaller than it appears in the pictures. The fittings and furnishings are nice and plush - similar to the club level at the Landmark etc. Overall, OK but I prefer the additional space of the Pres Solitaire (which is also about 2K to 3K Baht less than the MG Suite), even though Pres is in a little less convenient location and the furnishings are a showing their age a little.

I just spent a week in a wonder suite and although cheap by euro standards I thought it expensive for what it offered much much smaller than the Landmark although you could live off the friut bowl and did get a comp bottle of red wine that I left behind.
Did bump into owner or manager doing a tour for several indians he was taking them to a large suite half way up/down and was expelaing about the putting green in the room! Yes that got me curious.

Since the prices are the same, what is the difference between booking a single versus a double/twin? Is it just an extra breakfast coupon?

That's most likely the grande majestic suite. Fantastic 2 bedroom suite. Enormous balcony with jacuzzi and putting green. Beautiful and large rooms (about 250m sq if I remember correctly). 18000 a night but my favourite place in BKK.
Looking forward to being back there in a couple of weeks.
