I stayed before in The Ambassador and was not impressed. Have been in most of the Suk hotels, landmark, manhatten etc. but last stay needed to book somewere to escape from Pattaya with a new cutie and tried the Amari Atrium (www.latestays.com) got it for 1500b and it was imho a bargain for 4* without the slease. Booked double, registered the girl with me when I came in but brought another back a different girl another night no probs.
Came back 3am and ordered room service, good food arrived on a fold up table white linen, not even a smirk at my cutie singing in the bath...
On the map it looks a bit out of it but the taxi is quick to Soi cowboy and they wil hail one for you at 3am in exactly the same way as they do in the day.
Also have a good bar, cute and friendly bargirls, should shut at 2am but got back at 1.45 one evening and they kept it open till we left (maybe 3.00am), live music earlier and smash the voBKa glass etc. And a good breakfast. Worth a look an the latestays site to see if it is on offer.

Tried Ambassador last week for 5 nts to dodge some collegues. They know where I usually stay in all my previous stays. So tried something new this time.
Nothing to talk about much. Stayed at tower wings and was totally disappointed. Imagine the older main wing will be a real horrible expereince for someone stayed there as most of the remarks I read were too negative about the main wing.
I was on 19th floor and the carpet was stinky and the bathroom was dark.
Positives: Breakfast is quite okay and the Hotel is extremely G. friendly (if you have booked a DOUBLE Room only). Couple of Good rests. and internet Cafe, Tailor shops and many travel Agents are all inside the premises.
got the room for 1285 Bht all inclusive.
Lot of indian families & tourist staying.

Well, I guess I had "n00b" written on my face then, or "-- >easy 600B cash here <--" as they didn't care at all of my double booking. Also in the "booklet" room it is written on the first page that bringing an overnight guest is forbiden and chargeable 600B (or something like that...)

Sorry to hear that PW. When did you stayed there? Were you in tower or main wing? I saw many people coming in and going out with TG/BG's with no hassle except few randomely stopped to check the double room and to collect the Id's. They stopped me once but then checked the status of the room (Double) and apologised.

It was in september, I posted here what happened at that time, to make it short I booked double but didn't give 2 names at the check-in (wasn't even ask too) so had to pay for guest till I give a 2nd guest name to the lady at the customer office on the 26th floor. I was in a deluxe room on the 25th floor tower wing.
