I have booked to stay at the Royal President, Bangkok for a few days in June, this will be a first for me.
Can anyone offer any tips or advice for getting back to the RP in the early hours from Cowboy?
If I walk, is it safer to walk along Suk. then up Soi 15 or is it quicker to walk up Asoke, then left on a road which is unnamed on my maps, but is marked as part of the green route on Nancy Chandler’s map? If I opt for a taxi, which is the best spot to pick one up for the shortest journey back? Usually I have stayed on Soi 4 and just flagged a taxi down at the Asoke end of Cowboy which gives a straightforward ride back, but this may not be the best spot to get directly to the RP.

Sometimes these side roads can be a bit quiet and intimidating. I often used to take a shortcut from Surawong Road through to Rama IV past the Rose Hotel, but didn't really feel comfortable, always better if there were plenty of people about.

It is about the same distance either way. Actually, I walk Sukhumvit to Soi 19 to that road you mentioned to the RP. Alone, no problems, about 5-7 min. With a girl who is lazy and you want to conserve energy for shagging, take a taxi or moto. Many of the girls wear high heels and much of the walk back to the RP doesn't have sidewalks. (If your girl is wearing sneakers, like all mine do, it is easier.)
Get a taxi waiting to turn right onto Sukhumvit from Asoke, you'll be in the shower within 7 minutes.

Is anyone now staying at the Royal President? In the past months, there has been loud construction noise all day from the new building going up next door, I am wondering if that is finished and all is quiet now?

Nah. Saw the sign by the elevator in the Court Wing (dated last October) but not a peep from the security guards despite my girls coming & going, both with me and without me.

anyone stayed in the park wing? superior studio or the deluxe or both to compare them,,,
I guess the park wing is in the main building right?
I have used the search engine for this and read a lot on this hotel.. but these questions are still an answered.
so if its in the main building then how bad is the walk of shame?
also at the price of 2200 inclusive of taxes.. is this the best deal, this is direct from the website.. are there any coperate rates this year or better deals than that..
even grand president raised there prices this year it was 1500 in feb and now its 1900 DAMN!!
anyway.. im guessing royal is better than grand right guys? the extra 300bht is worth it yeah?
anyway info on the park wing is the main concern thanks guys..
