I stopped using priceline.com for exactly th reasons stated
1. the cost isn't that great all too often
2. You don't always get what you really want
3. Little knopw fact is that most of the time you don't get any perks with that booking!
Marriott is one that cuts off the perks for many discouted booking sites.
I would not get 3X UA miles nor credit for my nights toward status at Marriott. That status thing pays off in lots of locations with room upgrades and reservation that don't dry up!

It has been posted in this thread before but it is worth mentioning again. If you go to the website shown as bidding for travel. You will get the information on what bids are being sucessfull on priceline. they will even give you a bidding strategy to get the lowest price on priceline. If you are thinking of priceline you gotta check out this site.

BigDUSA is right. Just look at biddingfor travel and with a little bit of luck you will be successful. Managed to get the Westin for the middle of july at about 65$ (from the Hongkong section of priceline). I guess, itīs a good deal, cause Cowboy is real close and BTS Asoke just a jump.
Only 16 days. Bkk Iīm coming.

Everything I've heard about Westin is great; some friends told me better that JWM now hands down - can you post a review when you get back?
Curious also on the sushi place there and supposedly great martinis at the piano bar. The pool at the Sheraton across the street looks nicer (with swim up bar I think) but I'm sure can use as both Sheraton properties.
I am staying in November for three or four nights - same same $65 or $82 with taxes.

Yes, I will share my experiences with the forum members when Iīm back. The best thing is, that I got the Shereaton for 2 days and a week later, when Iīm back in BKK I will stay at the Westin. So I can compare these 2 great hotels. Just tried again, to get a 5 star for the weekend, but my offer of 440 H$ was rejected. Ok, I will try again in 3 days, cause I donīt want to bid more than 490 H$. A suggestion for all brothers, who wish to use priceline: Use the Hongkong section, cause the recommended prices are a little bit lower as it seems to me (maybe itīs only the strength of the Euro, who cares).
Just 15 daysītil my tīreturn.

Just currious- what did you get the Sheraton for per night? Best I have done recently is US$ 120 including all taxes, tips, and breakfast.
Anyone else get a better rate than above for Sheraton?

@Jack I got the Sheraton for 65 or 70$ (donīt remember exactly) + taxes appr. 15$. Look at my former post (around may). They just confirmed my booking, so everythings seems to be alright. The breakfast would be 560 Baht, but the Robinson is just across the street, so I guess I would prefer to eat there. You have McDonalds and a foodhall in the basement. I wonīt pay 560 Baht for a breakfast. When you want further information, drop me a mail.

I have stayed at both the sheraton and the westin. Join the starwood preffered guest program. They will give you credit for the priceline stay in BKK. Also the they will upgrade your room for free. The sheratons member rooms are really nice. Much nicer than the westins. Westin does have down comforters and pillows. Although they are under the same ownership you can't cross use the facilities. At least when I tried and they wouldn't let me.
