ok if you check the website you will see that the prices are now 1500 baht from 1000 baht.. so is this hotel worth the increase or would it be better going to somewhere like Grand president? or of such... I stayed in the manhattan 4 years ago I liked it.. but it is worth the extra 12 bucks? compared to other hotels?

There hasn't been a price increase in the last 5 months. Don't use the hotel's website. Use the hotel booking link on this board, or use the search engine to find different current threads on this subject. My latest booking there for march is 1050bt for a twin.

I think that is a decrease not increase. Web site I think used to quote 1600 baht. If you book online used to be about 1000 now looks like 1200. IMHO there are better places for that amount of money unless they have updated the rooms from when I was there. bimmher

According to the Manhattan Hotel, there is construction in the area facing the front. It goes from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Not sure if this is accurate. I would recommend Honey Hotel Soi 19. Its not as nice as Manhattan, but it has a small pool and includes a basic breakfast. Its walk up only, but only three stories. The cheapest rate for a room on a high floor, not by the parking lot, is 900 baht. It has no in room safe, but they do give you two free bottles of water each day. There is a safety box at the desk. You can make a reservation by E-Mail, which is nice being you aren't charged ahead of time.

Last time I walked by looked like the noise problem was still going on. When I said better places for the same money I was talking about the 1200 baht rate I found online for the Manhattan. For that I would suggest the Majestic suites about 1200 baht, or the new Hotel the Grand Business Inn For the Grand Business Inn Look here Link Web site http://www.awgroup.com Phone 662 254 79814 email awbusinn@asiaaccess.net.th hotel_reception@awgroup.com Majestic Suites you can book online click the link upper left on this page that says get your last minute deals Bangkok If you want to stay around 1000 then I would suggest the Dynasty small rooms and a bit dark but still nice. Try to get a room in the newer wing. About 1000 baht a night Nana (a dump form what I hear) never stayed there. About a 1000 a night Woraburi in http://www.woraburi.com 1000 baht a night I looked at the honey hotel but was not impressed. Best of luck. I would take the Dynasty or Woraburi if it was me and I wanted something around 1000. Did read about some problems with Woraburi charging for guest so do a search in the hotel section and make sure that you book double and ask about bringing guests back Edit: I have stayed at the Nanatai Mansion about 850-900 but it is a ways down soi 4. Rooms are big and in good shape for the money. They do have a free tuc tuc like Woraburi has. Just a bit out of the way. I think the place used to be apartments and was converted into a hotel so the rooms are big compared to Dynasty or Manhattan. Contact contact@nanataimansion.com Phone 02 255 6602 9 It is at the end of soi 4 bimmher
