Hi Chaps, going back to LOS soon, infact maybe twice this year .Just want some info from those that have stayed in the President Solitare Platinum suite jacuzzi rooms, As well as the ambassdor type D suites jacuzzi rooms. How much bigger than a regular bathtub are they, plenty of space? how worthwhile for the money? and any info of the suites as a whole in general, as i'm considering staying in at least one of them. Regards

Sanook269: When I last checked into a Platinum Suite, it hadn't been cleaned. The bottom of the kitchen sink was yellowish brown and the jacuzzi hadn't been cleaned in so long it a had coat of slime on the bottom and a brown ring around the sides. The cook top was covered in gease and food particles. The windows were filthy and there were large water stains or heat stains (rings) on the desk and the coffee table. I called the manager and asked him to come up to the room, which he did, immediately. He walked around taking notes and apologizing. I went out for a few hours and when I returned the windows had been cleaned and you could see they "tried" to clean the sink and jacuzzi, but it wasn't done properly. It was the first time I've seen a "male maid" and this guy didn't know the meaning of "clean." After a day or two the sink and tub started to looked better, probably from my use more than anything else, but the cooktop was NEVER properly cleaned. I enjoy the Jacuzzi in the Platinum Suite and I like the neighborhood, but I'm not sure I'll stay there again. Sanook269: short answer:Great. Ok man now i'm really confused, that sound disgusting, I i no that room goes for around $170/£85 per night, i'm suprised you didn't try booking somewhere else. after seeing this. So are u sure overall, even for the jacuzzi, it was great??

I have stayed in both. For me there location is good but the the Solitaire is a better and newer hotel overall. I have never had a problem with cleanliness in either hotel, but service is better in the Solitaire. The jacuzzi in the Solitaire is good, but not as big as the Royal Suites. More on the RS, as it is less well reported. It is behind the main Ambassodor hotel with a connection on the first level by a walkway. The reception is on the 7th or 9th floor and then you have another lift to use to get to your room. This is a little inconvenient, but not too much. The rooms are big, half as big again as the PS. Not as high tech or new, but still very good, especially for the money. There is a large living/dining/kitchen area, bath/shower room and large bedroom that incorporates the bed and spa area. The jacuzzi is huge and there is a large mirrored play area in front. You have full use of the Ambassador facilities which includes a very nice pool and huge gym. It was clean, but security a little lax. It is very quite. Downsides, there was no internet or safe in room, so you have to go to the main hotel for valuables. If you read my field report for my third trip you can see the fun I had in the room there. WW

To be honest, I can't remember seeing a Jacuzzi at the Ambassador, but I have heard they are available. Motel 6 is a nationwide motel chain in The States. They offer a clean room, with basic amenities. The carpet, the furniture, etc., are all of very low quality, but serviceable, and the rooms are clean and secure. Their market is the budget minded traveler. Nothing wrong with that. As a friend of mine likes to say, "you sleep with your eyes closed." The service apartments at the Ambassador brought to mind how a similiar room might look were it available at Motel 6.
